Nintendo this week reported sales of more than 3 million Wii units worldwide, with 1.1 million sold in the U.S to date. Brisk sales of Wii and the Nintendo DS handheld boosted quarterly profit 40% from the year prior. Nintendo forecasts sales of 6 million Wii consoles by the end of Mar. 2007. |

I don't know about either premise. I think the target market for the 360 and the PS3 will still buy the 360/PS3, so they are really just competing against each other.
What they do have to worry about is the average consumer, who really buys most of the consoles anyway. The lower price point, cheaper games, kid/family friendly games, and revolutionary (you heard me) controls make the Wii an attractive package for normal folks. |

just downloaded the News Channel. Looks pretty cool.

i noticed the pretty blue light this morning, but i couldn't be arsed to update my system yet

I updated mine this morning. Pretty interesting. I didn't have enough time to see how to stack all of the stories on the map, just one at a time.
|
I updated, but only had a few minutes to check it out. Interesting, but I doubt I'll use it much.
Have to figure out the globe thing. |

I really think it's going to be a 2 way race, not a 3 way race. Someone has to radically lower the price of their console, but considering that they are losing so much money per console as it is, it probably won't happen until it's too late. Chris |

I guess it was updating quite a lot during the night. Chris |
Now that I have a Wii, I have a question.
A couple of weeks / month ago, someone posted a website that was Wiicentric. Meaning that if I saved that website as one of my favorites on my Wii, the layout of the website was perfect for the Wii and it had great links to other websites that optimized your Wii viewing. For example, there are webpages out there that have links to music that you can play live on your Wii. I thought I had bookmarked the page a while back, but I cannot find it now. Can anybody summarize the helpful Wii pages out there? Thanx Chris |

Chris Anyway, gonna check out the News channel when I get home from work. I thought the internet browser was essentially useless, so hopefully this will be better :) |

RUMOR - Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles info Man, it seems really hard to get some official info on this title. All we ever hear is rumor, and then it ends up being confirmed a few weeks later. Well, here’s another set of rumors concerning the game, let’s see what happens with these! - The Bio Hazard series on Wii is NOT a side story game, it is a main stream series game - Story is straight after Code Veronica (so Code Veronica -> BH Wii -> BH4 -> BH5) - 3 main characters - Jill is confirmed, 2 others still not confirmed - Rumour is that Wesker is the other unconfirmed character - Game system follows BH4 I really hope these come true, sounds like a good setup to me! that sounds awesome. Im glad capcom is supporting the wii. I do wish they would bring us RE5 as well as I dont have any of the other two systems. |

Can't wait to get home and complete my Wii. I wonder what other channels they have up their sleeve. Yeah I was up a bit later than that. I updated about 4am et. After a 4+ hour Zelda marathon. Luckily I dont have to work. |

I do wish they would bring us RE5 as well as I dont have any of the other two systems. Heck, if it looked exactly like RE4, that would be fine with me. Truth is, I think the install base for the Wii will be such that developers will be changing their tune on a lot of this kind of stuff, and they'll port over whatever they reasonably can. I fully expect the Wii console to sell as quickly as they can make them up to and through next X-mas, and it's awfully hard to ignore that kind of hardware movement if you want to make money selling software. |
just figured out you can edit and play around with some of the message board photos, kids are having a blast with this throw away feature.
This Wii is the best thing I've bought since Tivo 6 years ago... |
big ups for the TiVo
