He asked for first-party games, not the first party-game.

And if he's still confused, first party games means games made/published by the console maker (in this case Nintendo).

But in that case, Mario Party still comes out before Super Paper Mario and is a first party game.

Woo hoo...I convinced my wife that this should be a family "gift" and not a gift specifically for one child. She finally gave in. I think the kids having the day off of school and driving her nuts may have been a deciding factor. We hooked it up about 1:30 this afternoon. We've been having a blast ever since. The Wii-Remote is absolutely amazing.

So in Nintendo's case, 9 times out of 10, a game starring Mario, Link, Samus, Wario or Donkey Kong.

I'm on my Wii now so I can only quote one of you...

His original question asked for big first-party games AND he already included MP8 and asked specifically for others. I only gave him the next as I sort of inferred he knew MP8 was next, be it a first-party game or the first party-game or both.

Whatever, there's answers to both questions.

Damn, typing on this sucks for an extended period of time...

Such a fun little game, especially in two player...not sure why it's getting mediocre reviews. I despise the fishing game, Find Mii and cow riding, but the shooting gallery, billiards, ping pong, laser hockey and tanks are terrific.

Just to clarify. I do know what a first-party game is, but I misunderstood the question -- probably because he mentioned mario party. But then, I was still right. MP comes out first.

Added a second remote via Wiiplay the other day, and all was fine at first...however, now my Wii seems to be "losing" both remotes - they'll light up briefly, but won't interact with the console, and turn back off. I've been able to re-sync them after this happens, but I'm not sure what's going on - anyone else experience anything like this before?

Once. I unplugged the console and plugged it back in and everthing worked.

BTW, got my shipment from Nintendo. Hooked up my progressive cables and I now have a second nunchuk so I can finally play some two player boxing and tanks.

Life is good. I'm also borrowing Excite Truck so hopefully I can get into it. Some people really seem to like it.

Excite Truck is a blast. Just have an SD card full of music before you get going.

My Wiimote wouldn't sync up once this weekend. All it took to "right" things was to power down on the console. Powered it back up and it worked fine.

thats like THE only game I haven't owned for the Wii

I'm thinking about selling/trading off some Wii games, so it's still at the top of my WANT list

Is there a certain file structure needed for the music or should I just dump the files in the root directory?
It is probably in the instructions, but thought I would ask.

Also, can you play music in any other games or through Wii Menu?

Doesn't matter. It will find the first hundred or so MP3s on your card and list them aphabetically whether you have them in folders or not.

There is no file structure, you can sort them if you wish, but it doesn't see folders. It just reads all the .mp3s it can find on the disc, sorted or not. Also there is a 100 song limit. So don't waste your time filling up a 2GB card like I did. So after realizing this, I just dumped the 100 into one folder.

The remote that came with my Wiiplay did the exact same thing. It kept losing synch with the colsole. I wonder if it's just a problem with the new remotes?

Sonic got a 6.9 from IGN and a 7.5 from 1up.

I'll be skipping this one as expected. Didn't have much interest to begin with as the controls sounded annoying to me (not a fan of the hold the remote sideways and tilt it to steer control scheme in general, much less for a sonic game).

I just have the same feeling about so many of the Wii titles. I'll buy it when its $20. That definitely applies to Sonic.

The two games on my horizon for must buys are Super Paper Mario and Fire Emblem. Fire Emblem needs no real Wii specific control at all and I'm glad. I want to play a traditional new game once in awhile with the classic controller or Wavebird.

Yeah, right now Super Paper Mario, Metroid Prime 3, Mario Galaxy and Smash Bros are my only $50 "must buys" that are officially announced.

Sonic I don't think I'll buy period as I'm not a huge fan of the series and the control scheme/game design just seems stupid to me. I'd rather just have a GOOD, fast action based sonic with traditional controls.
