I don't know what the fuck y'all are on about. I'm (only) through the 3rd level and am having a blast. When does it start to suck? Does it only suck in comparison to other 3rd-person, over-the-shoulder games that I don't play anyway?

Multiplayer is a blast with real people. Assuming they're cool...
I was lucky enough to have a guy on our team that was willing to answer questions and give some great playing tips.

I can't remember his username, and that sucks because I forgot to send a friend request. I may try to look at the player's list again to figure it out so I can also give him a good review.

Yeah, I played some multiplayer tonight with some random people and really enjoyed it.

Re: "Ghostbusters"

I'm pretty impressed by how good this game actually turned out. Really enjoying it and will be satisfied if this is the only Ghostbusters "sequel" we end up getting. This game also has me thinking of other great movies that could be made into games. One that comes to mind for me right away is a Back to the Future game. They could either base it off the movies or do it like the Ghostbusters game and have it be a sequel of sorts.

It can be fun, but you can only die so much and have the ridiculous AI screw up so many times before it seems like a chore.

I really can't imagine playing through it again. I have no plans to play multiplayer either.

Re: "Ghostbusters"

I have no clue why the word "sucks" is even associated with this game not unless you're some professional game critic. I'm flat enjoying the heck out of it. Yea, it's not perfect and has a few flaws but show me a game, especially a movie base one, that even comes close to this. Maybe it needs a few more fancy "Guns" blazing away or a bit more "Gore". Frankly I love the break from all that.

I played about 4+ hours on MP last night with a fellow Talker who will remain anonymous and again a total blast. I'm really amazed at the amount of action going on the screen and pace. But probably the one thing that really stands out is the absolute need of Teamwork. So far to is the players most of whom are there to just have fun. Sure there's been a few with a ego and mouthing off but nothing like in other games. If the overall game score was 8.1 then MP alone is worth 9.5!

All I know is bustin' makes me feel good.

I love the feeling of pulling a ghost over a trap and fighting it down in there. Just learned the Slam Dunk at the end of my session last night when I slammed The Grey Lady down in there without issue

I'm at the last boss now and other than the Stone Angel section near the end I've loved this game, warts and all.

Re: "Ghostbusters"

The game starts off kinda slow, sluggishly so. But the further I'm getting in to the game, the more fun it's turning out to be. More weapons to switch between, more things that need to be slimed and more ghosts that need to be zapped, it's not a bad game at all.

I'm on the PS3, but haven't done any multiplayer yet.

Re: "Ghostbusters"

I finally finished it. Let me tell you, the last few levels were a pain.

Overall, I'd say it was a good game, but again since I don't play online, it's over for me. I'd give it a 7/10.

The online is fun but it's also repetitive. I don't understand the heaping praise. Co-op (online or real life) would've made the game a lot more fun.

Especially since I heard that the Wii gets storyline co-op. Why is that?

Wii is for families and fun times. 360 and PS3 are for social outcasts and shut-ins. Didn't you know that?

I would totally buy this on the wii if it had a proton pack/ghost trap accessory.

I really don't get this. I have played through most of the Wii version now co-op and honestly I wouldn't want to play this any other way. A human helping you is much more useful than the AI for the Ghostbusters and makes the scanning and trapping go much faster and makes the whole thing less repetitive. Leaving this out of the 360/PS3 version makes no sense at all.

Re: "Ghostbusters"

Finished this last night. The area right before the final boss fight was one of the most frustrating things I've dealt with in a game for quite some time. The computer ai sucked on controlling my teammates. I'd get a couple ghosts beat down to where I could trap them, clear the area and then get taken out while trying to wrangle or slam one into the trap. Without fail, even though everyone was standing when I threw out my capture stream, they'd all be down by the time I got knocked down. It wouldn't have been so bad if they didn't make you sit through a 30 second load screen followed by a 2-3 minute cinematic every damn time it happened. Still, overall it was a very fun game and I'll probably play back through on the professional difficulty. Echoing what others have said, I can't believe they didn't put co-op in this. It's the perfect game for it.

Could they patch the XBOX version to allow for co-op?

Re: "Ghostbusters"

I haven't played the Wii version, but in the Xbox, the other 4 ghostbusters are pretty heavily used in the story. It's not like there's a "Dom" role you can step into. The story would have to have been written around more than 1 rookie for that to work.

Should have been done, yes.

This is the same for the Wii version. They did not rewrite the story for the Co-op. They talk about "the" rookie, but you are allowed to have a second character playing as well. The storyline doesn't mention the second character, but it really doesn't matter.

Personally I'd love to have a Honey I Shrunk The Kids game. If they did it right it would be awesome.

I wish someone could do a Kingdom Hearts-esque game but with another movie studio. Universal for example. Back to the Future, Jurassic Park...

Re: "Ghostbusters"

I'm at the begining of the game (in front of the opera) Should I be buying upgrades? or should I save my money for better gear down the road. (I'm having trouble with the gargoyles - because I think I need to upgrade my gear)

In other words - I don't want to spend my $ on upgrading something that I will throw away when Egon gives me the next latest ant greatest gadget - and then I don't have $ to upgrade that.
