just look through ebay and you'll see why nobody has them. there are people there with stacks of 10 or more for sale.

Honestly, i'm only getting the system to sell. And with all the crap that's happened trying to get it, i'm not even looking to get that much for it anymore. I'm just hoping to get a little profit out of it and calling it a day. I'm gonna see if i can get the manager to give me a discount on the 20gb. If he does i'll just take that one i think.

this is why this thread is so dead in regards to talk about the games and such.

this reply is not aimed at not you personally, just in general.

i.e the regular, non-rich gamers that scrounged up $600 and couldn't find one to buy because so many were snatched up by people that camped for a couple of days just to sell them on ebay to make some quick cash.

Yes these regular gamers could camp for 2 or 3 days as well, but:

1. They shouldn't have too. Most of the fault for that goes to Sony, and morons that will pay over a grand for a console. But sellers help faciliate the problem.

2. And many people have jobs and/or school and can't sit outside a store for a couple of days.

So yes, the whole ebay thing (again mostly sony's fault for only launching what looks to be between 100,000 and 200,000 consoles) screws many gamers.

Maybe you should indicate that in the title instead of "even EBayers are welcome!"

Yeah, that was a bit contradictory.

But the fact is, if there's no ebay talk, you might as well kill this thread for now.

Only a couple people here have said they actually have one and plan on keeping it, and they aren't among the most active posters.

Edit: Or maybe you could have a one and only ebay thread, and then this thread full of silence until spring when people start buying them to keep.

Eh...eBay talk should probably have it's own thread. For people coming in to look at PS3 information (games, consoles), this thread has no purpose.

ebayers ARE welcome, but the talk about ebay should be minimized.

The problem is you can't minimize the majority, and the majority of people don't have PS3's to talk about, or any hopes of finding one anytime soon if they even want one, and are thus more interested in the eBay madness.

A seperate eBay thread sounds like a better solution, I'll start one and we can see how it goes (or you can delete it if you don't want one).

My system comes tomorrow from Costco, I'm looking forward to playing it. I got a 160GB hard drive to install right away. I bought Resistance already and it's been a while since I've played MVP 2005 (still the best baseball game IMO) so I'll be playing that a lot too. I haven't seen Talladega Nights yet so I am excited to watch that too.

Well just to follow up, i got a call from the manager at the wal-mart and he said that they got ANOTHER shipment and that these are the 60gbs. So i will be picking up mine tomorrow and he said he would give me a discount for my troubles. So if anyone is still looking for one and is in the Kenosha, WI area let me know and i'll give you the address of the wal-mart and you can see if they have any more.

Mainly what I was saying is that is seems like gamers are the people trying to get their hands on the system 2nd hand, because people are selling them for a shitload on ebay the gamers are getting screwed.

Anybody else feel that the controller feels kind of cheap?

I haven't held one not attached to a demo unit yet but I really don't like this controller design anymore. They need to spread those damn thumbsticks out a bit. I do however like the way the triggers feel

Actually I like the lightness of the controller, it's easier to hold in the hands especially after long periods of gaming. My only gripe with it is - no rumble.

Isn't it a little too soon to be comparing it to the 360 hardware problems? If the PS3 turns out to have hardware problems too, it probably won't show up for weeks or months. How soon after the 360's launch did tons of people start getting the 3 red lights (I don't really remember)? I would be seriously worried if a lot of PS3s start breaking only a few days after launch.

There were definitely 360 problems at launch, but I thought it took a while for the 3 red rings of death in particular to become common.
