ok, I really didn't want to bring in more ebay stuff but this one is just crazy:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ME:B:WNA:US:12

now why would anyone in their right mind bid/buy this from this seller? this is just crazy.

Are you saying that I shouldn't pay him?

I bet the buyer will be surprised when he opens the box and sees 3 PS1 systems.

The auction titles says the same thing. The buyer would be getting a $900 reading comprehension lesson...

...if only the buyer wasn't a 0-feedback person who won't pay. Instead, the seller gets to pay insertion fees and go through the hassle of getting a final value credit.

The same thing happened with PS2 boxes and 360 boxes when people didn't read carefully.

Oh my gosh, my costco.com PS3 order just changed status to shipped. After hours of trying, I had finally gotten it to checkout last Friday, but I had all but given up hope that it would mean I'd get part of the first shipment...

eBay prices continue to dip, with several "console only" 60GB auctions going for $900-$1,000. At that price point - paying $600 plus tax plus eBay/Paypal fees - you're clearing roughly $300-$350. Not sure it would be worth it to wait for 36+ hours to make that amount.

Did you read his first feed back? It is positive and reads, "NO CONTACT NO PAYMENT You Are Such A TOTAL LOSER !" Now that is so positive, don't you think?

Ya sadly I just sold one for $945. They have completely dropped. Anyway, I am having a hard time finding a box that fits the PS3 good to ship. The only one that worked was at Staples or Office Depot and was a 18x18x18 which is way to tall. Any recommendations on where to grab a box that fits well?

Your best bet is to sell through Craigslist or your local classifieds. Avoid eBay feeds and a $1000 price (or $899) won't sound so ridiculous.

i think Ill be able to get about 1100-1200 at this point, but craigslist wouldn't be a bad idea I suppose.

its pretty funny that this thread is all about how much to sell the system for as opposed to playing the games. this seems like a system for screwing gamers as opposed to making them happy....

I think he means that in a thread that is 3 pages long discussing the launch of the PS3, the entire thread is talking about how best to get more money on eBay rather then how the system or any of the games are.

Okay, the first page seems to discuss the actual hardware/games. But from then on, its been mainly ebay talk.

well, that could be attributed to the fact that their launch titles are pretty lack luster, and really offer nothing different. There's only a few exclusive titles, and the critics aren't impressed.

Like it was mentioned before, just about no one on this board actually has a system. A lot of people have a Wii though.

well i just got back from the wal-mart that said they had my 60gb ps3 in. Turns out they only had the 20gb. The manager told me that i could get a discount on the 60gb whenever they get one, but the question is should i even bother. They said they are going to hold the 20 gb for me for today.

So the question is:

Wait for the 60gb and get a discount.
Or
Get the 20 gb now?

Plus, who actually managed to get their hands on a system? It can't be many of us...

Weel one thing is, I haven't heard of any problems with the console itself like the 360 had.

I think the question is, to the people that actually got one, who is planning on keeping it, or even opening up the system to play it?

If i was gung-ho on keeping a ps3 for me, I'm not sure if I could handle the wait if a 20 gig version was made available, so it's really your call. Obviously, it would be beneficial to wait, especially if they give you a discount

I've heard of numerous frozen/dead demo units, HDMI handshake problems, HD display problems, wonky online performance, and overheating. But not to the extent I heard it with the 360s.

With 10%+ of the stock of PS3s on eBay or awaiting their sale on eBay, my guess is people just aren't playing them.

Do you have a Wifi network? If so, I'd wait.
