CONKER!
Finally!
I bought this game like a week before I got my 360, and about a week after I sold my original XBox...thinking it'd be a shoo-in for BC. It's still unopened. FINALLY, I can open it up and play it.

Anyone see the new Bioshock trailer? The game looks amazing, but WTF is up with the dialogue? "In the city, science was unstoppable until one day science couldn't be stopped." WTF is that supposed to mean?

Sooo... today I got an email from THQ with basically an ad for Smackdown vs. Raw 2007 (which I had already bought). The first line was the following:
You are receiving this email because you signed up for SmackDown vs. Raw 2007 product updates when you downloaded the game demo from Microsoft's Xbox Live Marketplace.
So am I giving my approval for them to spam me whenever I download a demo now? I don't remember explicitly signing up for updates, but it was probably in some legal crawl... anyone else get something similar?

I seem to remember in the Xbox Live settings on my original xbox there being something you could uncheck to not receive any message from third party vendors/companies.
I also did not get that email.

My email associated with Live/passport is my junk box. I never see those emails.

soul caliber 3...
i take that series way too seriously, so for me, it all depends which system you have a better arcade stick for.
I have a Hori for both systems, but I don't own a ps2

You know, it's really disheartening to hear that the Wii and the PS3 have already outsold the 360 in Japan, even though the 360 had a year head-start.
I mean, sure the Japanese love their "quewpie" games which the 360 lacks, and I'm also sure that they're more comfortable with the Wii and PS3 being from Japanese companies. But those systems don't even have games like that out yet - they're just selling on the promise of those games.
Now, as much as I like Rainbow 6: Vegas, I am not the least bit surprised that Japanese gamers have no interest in playing something like that. It might be too realistic for them as they only seem to like realism in their horse racing and dating sims. Maybe if the guns in R6:V shot sunshine instead of bullets, and instead of Mexican mercenaries they were lollypops with smiley faces...
Still I would love to see more Japanese-style RPGs and wacky type games on the 360.
Not so much for myself, but for the 360's success in Japan. Mostly because every console that has been successful, has been successful in Japan first. And even though Blue Dragon has helped boost 360 sales there, it's still lagging far behind.

You would think they would at least like Viva Pinata, it seems like it came out of the mind of a Japanese publisher. Well if Blue Dragon failed to make a dent in the giants that are Sony and Nintendo, nothing will. I think Gundam and a new Pokemon game is out selling Blue Dragon currently in Japan.

The Japanese are absolutely fanatical about the games they play, more so than even the childish fanboys we have in our country. They hate any game that is not made by a Japanese developer.
Yes, Viva Pinata is a "cutesy" type game the Japanese would probably love if only they tried it, but unfornuately Rare is a UK developer, so they will never play it. Kameo is also another 360 game made by Rare that has a definite Japanese feel to it, but of course the Japanese ignore it.
Regarding Rainbow Six, it has nothing to do with the realism; Japan just hates FPS games in general. No FPS ever sells well in Japan. Even the classics like Doom never sold well in Japan. The closest to a FPS that any Japanese developer has even made would probably be Resident Evil 4, and the Japanese aren't too big on RE. RE is much more popular in the US and Europe.
Most likely, the 360 will never sell well in Japan. MS can still be successful though. The Xbox was successful and it sold extremely badly in Japan too.

I've been playing a lot of THP8 on my new HDTV, and I love it. I've had a couple of problems with it though, and I hope it's just a glitch and not my system. It tends to slow down (almost as if it's freezing,) when it's loading a big video, and it did it once online. It froze once on me - either that, or it was taking 2 minutes to load something.
