My 2nd GoW is perfect with the pixels, but at close glance there are imperfections where the LCD screen meets the casing on each side of the screen. Annoying, but I think I'll live since the viewing area is fine.

I hit over 50 this week. I never ever though I could own 10 of those things and I now somehow hit 50. Granted almost all were $5 or even less in some cases.

I hit up the local CC and was treated to their usual abysmal way of doing things. Some of the UMDs in the sale were actually marked $14.99 so right off the bat I knew that I wouldn't be able to figure out which of the other titles were actually on sale. Maybe I'll look later on the net for a list of titles on sale.

My GoW PSP from amazon was perfect. Now I can use my Best Buy replacement plan to get my money back for my old dead pixel/bad button PSP.

Is the price going to be $199 or will it be more?

Just got the Skype headset for the 2000, and it isn't working! I was hoping someone out there has some incite. I have tried it on two different wifi connections. I can hear the other party, but they can not hear me. My mic seems to be not working. Is there a port I need to open or something? I mean, I do nothing special for my computer and I can call no problem. Suggestions would be great! Thanks!

edit: Besides for, "It's broken." I think that is the problem.

How come video pdcasts won't work on the PSP?{I can't connect to the internet via the PSP so I can't download them that way}

Also I hear Sony is going to offer a online movie rental service for the PSP.

Some of them do. The PSP is very picky about the resolutions of Mpeg4 it supports so many of the video podcasts work, but others like 1UP Show do not.

The online rental/purchase video service is live.

Now that I finally got my locationfree to work outside of my home network, I don't see the need for UMDs anymore when I can watch TV or anything I've recorded on my DVR. :D

Not anymore - for some reason, before your post, I thought it was coming out at the end of this year. Now I'm disappointed that it's coming out later.

For those who noticed Valkyria Chronicles in the PSP Video montage at E3, it turns out that was simply a mistake and the game is NOT in development for PSP-- Just PS3.

Missed that mistake, but I knew it was a PS3 title since 1UP showcased it recently. Looks very good and its from a great development team. Probably a game I pick up.

Yea, I knew it was a PS3 game, but they made it look like a PSP version was coming, too. Ah, well.

I've just started crisis core and I was wondering how does one know what the enemy HP is. It's weird to just hack away and not know how much hacking I have left to do.

mlemmond 07-20-08 01:08 PM

I recently bought a the Daxter PSP bundle, and I love it.

sracer 07-22-08 04:26 PM

So... what is the deal with the lack of availability of PSP games?

I received a PSP for Father's day and am absolutely loving it. But it seems like all the games that I'm interested in are OOP and virtually impossible to find online or off.

I bought the last copies of Luxor and Puzzle Quest at the local Target (the only store in the tri-city area that carried them). I gave up trying to track down Toca 3... but eventually managed to snag a copy of Racer Driver 2006 which I understand is pretty much the same as Toca.

I had to go the eBay route to get Infected. The only place to get Test Drive:Unlimited and Star Trek Tactical Assault was to buy them from GameFly.

I'm sure that my taste in games is not within the "norm" for PSP owners, but am I the only one having to jump through hoops to buy games? I find it odd since there are periodic articles on blogs about the low sales of games being attributed to piracy.

darkside 07-22-08 04:42 PM

I had a hard time finding The Metal Gear Digital Comic and Loco Roco. It seems that many PSP games come in very small runs and get hard to find pretty quickly. Probably a side effect of low PSP game sales. Many PSP users pirate the games so even with all the hardware they have sold they don't sell many games.

fujishig 07-22-08 04:43 PM

Amazon has Star Trek: Tactical Assault for 20 bucks (from amazon themselves... some of the other games they only have from amazon sellers).

For some reason, it seems like DS and PSP games have a very short shelf life... I'm not sure if it's because there's not as much space devoted to them, or if there are just so many games coming out. I mean really, how does something like Tetris DS go out of print?

Yep... it wasn't though when I was looking for it.

It's crazy. But I'm of the opinion that if I find a game on a store shelf that I MIGHT be interested in, then I should buy it. And since they seem hard to find I shouldn't have a problem selling it later if I change my mind.
