The screen looks pretty damn amazing actually. I won't upgrade since I have a PSP2000, but the combined upgrades of the 2000+3000 make it pretty sweet.

any pictures of this unit available or is it too soon yet?

I just got two games and I'm having a blast.
1. Super Collapse 3 - $15 at Amazon. I've put in hours already. Bejewed-like - click tiles of the same color to get rid of all the ones touching each other. They have variants as in the tiles come from above and below, puzzles, sliding tiles (the most difficult one for me), etc. 2. Blokus - Steambot Championship - $10 at Amazon - Four players, each with the same tetris-block like pieces. The goal is to place the most pieces on the board. After the first piece (which has to touch your corner), all other pieces must have one tile diagonal to each other. If sides are touching that's a no-go, they have to be diagonal. This allows your pieces to sometimes entangle with the others'. There's a lot of strategy involved in trying at the beginning to expand out into the board as much as possible, but since the enemy can get into your space, just hoarding space is not enough. Tons of fun and even better than Super Collapse 3 (and that's saying a lot). |
That PSP 3000 looks really good. I guess it's time to upgrade the fat one.
I just finished playing Silent Hill Origins and what a great game. I have never played a SH game before and I really enjoyed it. Now I'm awaiting for a new release in the PS3. |
Yeah SH:0 was pretty underrated I thought. The combat learning curve was pretty steep, but once past that it was a solid entry into the series.
Still, it's budget priced on PS2 now so that is probably a better way to play the game. |

I'm trying to help a friend and maybe someone here can assist. Her son's PSP was working fine last night. He says it showed a purple screen and there was a countdown going. He turned it off because he wasn't sure what it was, and now when he turns it on the power light turns green for about 10 seconds and then goes off. No image.
I have tried pressing the R-button while turning it on - nothing. I am told that they did not register the unit, but purchased it from Toys-R-Us about 6 months ago. Any suggestions? |

Since it still under warranty, I told her she is best off sending it back for repair.

first I went "pata pata pata pon" this got me outside where I spotted a criminal.
So I went "pon pon pata pon" and shot him in the next with a arrow I then cooked the criminal in a big pot and got drunk. life is good but I wonder what IT is. |
The new PSP3000 bundle with Ratchet and Clank game, National Treasure 2 movie, Echochrome game and 1GB stick is in stock at Toysrus.com for $159.99 with the coupon code 922600

That is a good deal, but it should be noted the 3000 (at least for now) can't be hacked with the Pandora battery trick like the 1000 and 2000 model. I only mention this because some people like using them that way and also the upcoming Action Replay won't work on the 3000 model.

Getting games, demos and trailers while on-the-go has never been easier! Check out the screen below.
The current PlayStation Store on the PC will be down in the interim as we take some time to revamp. Don’t worry, it will re-launch soon after we’ve made some tweaks. Please keep in mind, if you already have a PlayStation Network account, simply sign in on your PSP using your existing information. The same account and wallet can be used on PS3 and PSP. You will be able to check out the PlayStation Store on the PSP soon, as we’ll have a video demo featuring Grace Chen posted soon on the Blog. Update v5.00 adds a sleep timer option that can be used while you are playing music on your PSP. In addition, we’ve added a full screen keyboard option for text entry and have redesigned the background of the XMB. I bought the Toys R Us bundle posted here, but in case anyone wanted the Madden Bundle it is in the lightning deals at Amazon.
$169.98 for another 90 minutes. No tax for most states and free shipping so it works out cheaper than the Toys R Us deal if you want t 2000 unit. |

I think so. I just ordered it for my son a week ago. It will be his Christmas present. I'm sticking with my 2000 for now, but once I see that new screen I may cave.
I would like to stick with the 2000, because I don't want to go through the trouble of selling it, plus my 2000 has some dirt issues in the corner of the screen, despite my careful handling of it, so I'd probably need some warranty work-- if they'd even take care of something like that-- to get it in condition for sale, but the 3000's screen is calling my name! And yes, I realized that was a gigantic run-on about 2/3 of the way through! :) |

Well part of the reason is he keeps taking mine so it became a necessity. My 2000 screen has no bad pixels which was a first for me with PSPs. Not sure how the screens will be pixel wise on the 3000, but I kind of want to keep my 2000 for that reason. $159 with everything they are including is a great deal though on the 3000.
Oh, and the new firmware is now LIVE!!! |
The store works really well and now the default theme is like the PS3 which is kind of nice. Anyone know how many PSPs you can tie to one account? For instance if I buy a game for PSP can it be downloaded to 2 different PSPs? That would be handy and if it is not possible I may stick with UMDs since they are easier to lend back and forth.
Edit. The info is on the store. You can put the games on 5 PSPs. Wow, more than fair there. |
I need a battery for my PSP 1000. What do you guys recommend?
