At the end of the demonstration questions were raised about the possibility of such a game, garnering knowing smiles from the room of LucasArts employees. Comments of "We are looking into it" were heard from members of their staff as ideas for the game were discussed among the people in the room.

The company has made no official announcements about any planned Wii titles -- there are no LucasArts Wii titles at E3 -- but we anxiously await any information from LucasArts on what promises to be a very compelling game concept.

I knew it, I knew it. I can't friggin wait.

Didn't know about this, it looks pretty cool (for a teaser).

Sadness is also very high on my list because it seems to make clever use of the controller and I love the B&W look of the game.

Sadness Plays in Black and White

Nibris reveals new details of its gothic horror Revolution title.

by David Adams

April 12, 2006 - While Nintendo's Revolution is certainly garnering support from gaming giants like Activision and Ubisoft, it isn't surprising that the console's unique design is challenging smaller developers to think outside the, er, double analog sticks.

Maverick Polish developer Nibris today offered additional details on Sadness, one of the company's projects for Nintendo's new console. While the studio is still withholding full details, we now know that Sadness will play out in a stylized gothic horror setting -- completely in black and white.

Such a gutsy choice is just the beginning for Nibris. Rather than focus on fast action and a high body count, Sadness will focus on mood -- one "which will not leave you till the very end of the game" -- and themes such as schizophrenia and narcolepsy. While Nibris mentions super-stylish film Sin City as one comparison, the company says Sadness will take place "pre-World War."

Nibris hopes to take full advantage of the Revolution controller. "Imagine driving away rats with a torch, throwing a rope (as a lasso) when you want to climb over the wall, or slitting the throat of a persecutor with a piece of glass... All of this with the help of the Revolution controller."

The company also illuminated its decision to develop for the Revolution, rather than other next-generation consoles.

"Nibris decided to follow Nintendo's path, which fights the stagnation which has occurred in video games, and creates new trends," commented Nibris' Lukasz Oskard. "With this move, we want to create a unique environment, which is only available in Sadness."

Nibris is currently seeking a publisher for the game.

Technically, "schizophrenia" and "narcolepsy" are conditions, not themes.

But that does sound really cool.

P.S. Don't know if anybody saw this: http://revolution.ign.com/articles/706/706951p1.html

It's NOT Resident Evil 5, but it will be some kind of Resident Evil game exclusive to the Wii. Maybe Leon goes zombie fishing?

Mario, Zelda, Metroid and Smash Bros all launch titles...

Jesus! Nintendo has really employed the nuclear option to open up this generation!

Chester - Mario is no-go at launch. I'd be surprised if there's Metroid too.

Zelda alone is enough to sell this launch, but if Metroid is there, too, that will be crazy.

Zelda getting bumped is a "for sure". Smash Bros seems like a consistent launch title like Ridge Racer (insert large random number here) for Sony/Xbox. Not sure what they'll do with the controller for that game, hopefully nothing too gimmicky.

They said Smash Brothers will use the Gamecube controller, not the wiimote.

In some ways I prefer the original N64 controller to the 'Cube one, I guess the 3-D stick being on the left instead of the center of the controller is OK, but the Z button placed on the top left of the controller instead of underside it could take some getting used to for games which use the Z trigger a lot IMO (didnt Diddy Kong Racing use it? As did Goldeneye and PD).

Don't know if anybody saw this (sorry if it was already posted):

http://www.smashbros.com/en/movie/index.html

Smash Bros looks fantastic! Even if it ends up looking roughly the same as the Cube version it still looks great fun!
And did I spot one of the Nintendogs puppies in that movie? How adorable!
The short bit when Wario comes on (when he has a rocket in his pants?) is hilarious

It was posted in the E3 section, but I agree it looks great and is a must buy for Samus and Snake alone.

Miyamoto has said Mario will most likely miss launch but be out in the first 6 months.

http://revolution.ign.com/articles/707/707709p1.html

Smash Bros is 07 for sure.

Zelda and Metroid are enough for me at launch anyways.

Nintendogs appear to be "blockers." Such as the octopus was on Mario Kart DS.

I think they confirmed Metroid for launch. Mario is unlikely, and Smash Bros was confirmed as 2007.

Zelda alone would be enough to keep me busy for a while (especially with all the DS games due this fall).

I don't think they've mentioned when WarioWare is due, but seems like that would be an easy one to get ready.

When do we expect the entire launch lineup to be announced? Is there a smaller convention similar to E3 where they may release that info as well as the cost and date? Or can we expect some press release on some random day?

I noticed you can preorder Wii games at Gamestop/EBGames website. Says Wii titles are 59.99. I thought Nintendo had said previously that first party games wouldn't be higher than 49.99?

EB doesn't know the prices. They priced the DS games at $49.99 when they first put them up for preorder before the launch.
