You know, the not free thing really sucks, but something in that article really got my attention and sounds REALLY cool, maybe this is common knowledge, but I did not know it.
and I quote:
"We will have a persistent bankroll system tied to your gamertag that will allow those who have built up enough money to enter higher-quality tournaments. Then, if you run out of money, you have to enter the freebie tournaments to build your bankroll back up."

i know I represent the minority girl opinion, but honestly the arcade games for me are my favorite part of 360.
If you want your wives to get into it, show them all the goodies they can play. I love cloning clyde and have pretty much played non-stop since Wednesday. It's alot of fun and easy to get into. I have a DS as well and I play that on breaks at work.
Most major title games aren't really good at getting the ladies to be honest with you. I played oblivion and it's a game I play alot because I like to kill things, most ladies aren't into that. I've found most of my 60 dollar games sit on the shelf as I play the arcade alot. Feeding Frenzy is fun, and most ladies seem to take well to hexic, astropop and Zuma for whichever reason.
I would try getting them into those title first before an actual game, 90% of the disk releases have been let downs for me, because I'm really not into fps or war games. Seems like alot of work for really nothing.
just my female .02

i tried to search but couldnt come up with anything, although i know the question was answered before. Right now, im on a 3-month live subscription i recently put (1 month or so ago). I just got another 3-month live card and checked it out to make sure its good. However, since i still have time left, do i apply it now? Ive heard that the months you have left get over written, but id rather use the card and toss it as long as it gets carried over once the old 3-months are over. Anyone know for sure?

DEAL ALERT:
For anyone interested in extending (or starting) a Xbox Live gold membership, Toys R Us discounted the old-school packaging 12-month membership from $49.99 to $19.99. I can confirm that it works perfectly with the Xbox 360. My membership is upped until late 2007 now. $1.66 a month ain't too shabby!
The design of the plastic packaging is the heavy orange and black found on all of the original Xbox packaging. Also, it comes with a black bag for holding the old communicator. Additionally, they had the combo 12 month / old headset with Crimson Skies for $30.

My bad on Crimson Skies.

I'm having an annoying issue with the mic... for some reason, on one of my controllers when I plug it into the controller I can still hear people on LIVE talking through the speakers (and headset).
This doesn't happen on my other controller. Does this mean that the mic port on Controller 1 is hosed?

An Xbox live gamer going by the gamertag C4Lukin has spent way too much time counting the number of downloads for each game on the Xbox live arcade in an effort to discover the correct sales figures. Whilst it gives us some indication of the sales figures, it doesn't take into account multiple account users or those who haven't posted their live scores.
According to these unofficial figures it appears as though Hexic 3d is the top seller with over 500,000 downloads whilst propping up the pack is Wik Fable of Souls with just 15,000 downloads. Hey, what's wrong with you lot, seeing Wik's super strong frog-like tongue in action makes it one of the best arcade games by a long shot!
Microsoft's recently revealed that 30 new titles will be available for download by the end of the summer, and a further 20 by the end of 2006, including the highly anticipated title Street Fighter II : Hyper Fighting, out on August 2nd.
Estimated downloads
Astropop- 21,321
Bankshot Billiards- 35,136
Bejeweled 2- 50,994
Cloning Clyde- 14,063
Crystal Quest- 29,557
Feeding Frenzy- 50,229
Frogger- 43,416
Gauntlet- 77,394
Geometry Wars- 188,428
Hexic HD- 566,230
Jewel Quest- 18,091
Joust- 45,010
Marble Blast Ultra- 107,886
Mutant Storm Reloaded- 38,726
Outpost Kaloki X- 23,732
Robotron 2084- 22,887
Smash TV- 78,790
Uno- 143,223
Wik Fable of Souls- 15,591
Zuma- 70,264
Microsoft have not released any individual game's sales figures.

Hexic really shouldn't be on that list. It comes preloaded with the system/hard drive. Everyone will have checked it out at least once. It doesn't really count as a sale, in my opinion.
Interesting on the other ones though. I figured Geometry Wars would be the highest of the actually purchased games. I also enjoyed Wik, not sure why it didn't get more downloads.

I think I do have it set correctly under personal settings. What's wierd is that I get voices through the TV and headset at the same time, but only with the one controller.
