I know, but you'd think since it is an American company we would follow the dates/times here on releases.

I'm not complaining just pointing something out.

More oblivion content coming soon...

The latest download for Oblivion for PC and Xbox 360 -- the Vile Lair -- will be out this Thursday. This underwater hideout provides your infamous character with safe haven. Those willingly inflicted (or shall we say graced?) with vampirism will find a means to feed, and if necessary, a means to cure their infliction. Hire evil minions, pray to the dark god Sithis, and a host of other functions await.

You can find full details and screenshots here:

I dowloaded it as well (demo). Is there a way to make it larger? I am playing it on my bigscreen and can hardly see what is going on, the games takes up less than 25% of the middle.

Pac man 400 - I'm in.
SF II - Most likely. Much better then the 1000 - 1200 I was anticipating.

And for the Oblivion content. I still haven't gotten the last 2 releases. I may fire it up again if more comes down the pipeline, esp if an expansion comes down.

I got it too, and was mad about the screen size but if you pause and goto ooptions you can strect the screen vertically and horizontally.

I am loving Frogger as is my 3yo son, and for 400 MP points it is money well spent even if the game is 25 years old.

Booya! JBR52 takes over the number 3 spot on the DVDTalk GamerScore Leaderboard with a little help from an arcade frog and a Native American fighting aliens. DVDKrayzie drops to number 4 spot, but still has a healthy 6K lead over #5 Obi-Wan.

In other leaderboard news, Discostu1337 is slowly gaining on the number one spot with some buds from Middle Earth. Stu is comfortably splitting the difference between the number one and number 3 spot with 6K in either direction.

As for DVDTalk's Top GamerScoreWhore, AwfullyGood is rumored to be selling a kidney through a black market contact for 50,000 marketplace points, decidedly enough points to purchase the entire spectrum of Arcade titles over the life of the 360.

I was hoping to crack the DVDTalk top 10. I guess that hasn't happened yet. I guess vacation, a broken 360 and a pregnant wife in the hospital will do that to your gamerscore.

Sweet. I can live with that. There was going to be some bitching if the first three were $10 each.

I have no interest in SFII and CC will depend on the demo.

I thought I looked for that, maybe it is not on the demo? I will have to look when I get home.

Does it look OK when stretched?

It looks fine you can stretch it vertical and horizontal, you can also do it in the demo.

Decoder for the Xbox 360 HD DVD Player Chosen

ATI’s H.264 decoder chosen to provide high-definition movie content for Xbox 360 owners.

July 12th, 2006 (2:42pm) - Earlier today ATI officially announced that Microsoft has chosen the company’s H.264 decoder for the Xbox 360 HD DVD player add-on. HD DVDs encoded using one of three approved codecs deliver up to six times the resolution of traditional DVDs all on a single disc. Built on ATI’s Avivo technology, the decoder used for the Xbox 360 HD DVD player brings to bear ATI’s considerable multimedia know-how to ensure gamers, home theater buffs, and casual viewers alike get a more perfect picture from the H.264 format.

"The Xbox 360 gives consumers access to a world of high-definition games and video content through Xbox Live Marketplace. With the new Xbox 360 HD DVD player using ATI’s decoder technology, we’re giving consumers the choice to playback the latest in high-definition movies," said Todd Holmdahl, corporate vice president of Xbox 360 hardware development. "HD DVD brings new meaning to the term home theater. When people see the visual clarity and realism that Microsoft and ATI are delivering through the Xbox 360 this holiday, they will be blown away."

To enable the smoothest H.264 video playback possible, the ATI decoder technology makes use of the Xbox 360’s graphics processing unit (GPU) to accelerate video processing. The unified shader design of the GPU enables high-end processing techniques such as comb filtering and automatic gain control to ensure that video artifacts such as blockiness or color bands don’t disrupt playback.

"With the Xbox 360 HD DVD player, Microsoft and ATI are pushing the boundaries of high-definition multimedia content," said Rick Bergman, senior vice president and general manager, PC Business Unit, ATI. "The decoder technology used in the new drive provides high fidelity visuals unlike anything ever seen before. This is another example of the close cooperation between our two companies, and the commitment we both share to delivering the most immersive experience possible for audiences around the world."

I just downloaded frogger about 8:30pm EDT.

The game is eh.. Sure, its a classic and fun. But the controls are so laggy that when you think you moved forward, your little frog stays put and gets hit by a car, or doesn't hit the log or turtle right and drowns.

Its 400 points ok. But with the laggy control, I'm not sure I'm happy I bought the game.

I thought the same thing Vryce. It did seem laggy, but I'm sure that's how the original played as well.

With the $12 point card deal, I see it as only costing $3, so no sweat there.

Just saw that Texas Hold 'Em now has a release date of 8/23/06 instead of TBD.

I have to say, im pretty impressed with the Live Marketplace again. Frogger and all the upcomming releases, and a bunch of new demos (downloading NCAA 07 demo now, LOTR demo should be up later today). Im glad that MS actually stepped up to the plate with plenty of kick butt content and is showing off what it can do.

Frogger is cool but the controls are fucking maddening. If I weren't an arcade completist I wouldn't have bothered.

I don't really care about Frogger, but the controls need to be tight for Galaga.
