I still haven't picked this up. I simply lost interest after seeing the posts here.

Now, one thing I would like to see is a Living Dead game with squads like GRAW.

Spoiler:

I took a short break from the game after finding the first of eight items in overtime mode. I picked it up again today and got 2 more items. I'm in the security room saved.

Man, those special forces guy are annoying. I need to be a bit more careful.

I got caught 2 times and had to restart to make sure I get the proper ending.

So, now I have 3 items found and a good amount of time. I think I've only used 1.5 hours of my 24 hours in overtime. I need 5 more items. Then, I have to find 10 queens.

Though that brings up one of my complaints about the game. There is no way to end the game to load up a save game. You either have to turn it off or die. In the start menu, there should have been an option to quit so you get taken back to the title screen. Then , you can load a save game or start another game.

Sorry to hear that. I'm terrible at this game... perhaps the worst, but I'm really enjoying it. There's a lot to do in this game. And I'm finding out that there are secondary and tertiary effects of some items when combined with other items.

The biggest problem for me is not the save system, or the bosses to defeat, or the respawning of zombies when traversing different load points in the game.... it is that the game is so immersive for me that I become the main character and get overly nervous when surround by crowds of zombies. but I'm getting better about it.

Even after this, it is only barely warm.
Good job. I completed my 7 day achievement and simply let myself die after my food ran out. If I wasn't so afraid of getting another glitch. I hadn't even fought the snipers again on day 6, plus I didn't get the food from Adam when he respawned in PP because I let the zombies finish him off.

I hadn't eaten the mall food anywhere but Colbys, Paradise, and the rooftop. All that food in the food court and Al Fresca had gone uneaten, not to mention the stuff in North, Wonderland, the tunnels, and the items in the park. I probably could have easily made it to day 10. But I didn't want to get so far and not get the unlocks because of a dirty disc eror when switching zones. Maybe now that I've officially got everything, unlocks and achievements, I'll be more ballsy and try it again to see how far I can go.

Well, I may still pick it up by I'm no longer in a hurry to do so. Your post is kinda encouraging though...

I am on the fence as well. How long does this game generally take? I know that it will be different for everyone, but anyone have any idea about the average play time?

Well I was able to bet the regular game and overtime mode in a single day. Granted, it was a long day. It all really depends on how you play the game. Are you going for all the achievements, just a few, or are you only intrested in the story? Depending on your answer the game can last anywhere from a day to a couple of weeks.

Phew... almost done with the game.

Spoiler:

I got the last of the 8 items needed. I just have to get 10 queens now. There sure are a ton of special forces people in the mall.
Though I've killed a ton of them and they raised me up a few levels.

I think I have about 15-16 hours to go to get 10 queens. I should be able to do it. And since each time I'd get beaten by the Special Forces, I'd load a previous save, I should get the true ending as I haven't been knocked out by them in the current saves I have.

Spoiler:

If you're having troubles, go make some nectar in Paradise Plaza. But remember to only drink one when the effects of the first wear off. Getting 10 queens took me all of 3 in game hours thanks to Adam's chainsaw and nectar.

I finished OT mode last night, the last battle had potential to be tough but there was an easy method that surfaced for me. Jump kicks work well

Double Lariats work even better.

No chainsaw for me

Sadly I played through quicker to complete the story and didn't worry too much about the side missions and survivors. I did a few side missions and saved about 8 people.

Hmm, perhaps but I'd worry about flying off the tank.

Spoiler:
I just stayed on the lower platform and when Brock came down, I kicked him in the melon then he jumped back up allowing me to take 2 photos (for PP) then he'd repeat it.

Spoiler:
With the double lariats you just stay on the lower part of the tank, and hit him with it when he jumps down. Jump back up to the top, rinse and repeat. At level 38 it took 3 or 4 to kill him.

I'm pretty bad at the game thus far...just not enough time to invest. I somtimes get bored walking from one end of the mall to another. I haven't even been everywhere yet....I pretty much just started.

I just found the CLOWN guy to fight, but he killed me. OH well.

I suck at this, too ...

I'm at the point where I need to get the 5 bombs. I take the motorcycle and head left to the first bomb/truck. I take the truck and head to the next bomb, and get that, but Carlito bombs my truck and I'm on foot. From there he just flattens me. Suggestions?

You can't suck with a gamertag like yours

Once again, Adams chainsaws are your savior here...well, that's what I used and it was painless. Also, there is at least one other car up in a parking lot underground up near the grocery store.

isn't that near a sports store? Follow Brad upstairs and when Carlito comes around the corner, bust his ass with a baseball bat

Should I grab the tunnel key and use the access points in the mall to get near the bombs?

I didn't try that, it should work but you still need to beatdown Carlito when down there.

I think you're still quite early in the game...why not restart to gain more levels by the time you reach him? Then you can revisit areas you missed before getting there?

You can do the bombs mission without beating Carlito in the truck. I did. Just get the bomb and run back into the mall or jump in a vehicle (if you are at one of the 2 places with a vehicle--i.e. PP and Seon's) and head to the next point.

Try using a hockey stick to shoot pucks at him.

Yes, you can. That's exactly how I did it.

More specifically, I continued returning to the spawn point of the beige 4-door sedan at the Paradise Plaza tunnel door. I replaced the car every two bombs and had plenty of time to spare. Also, you will need to have the bathroom shortcut open as well.
