Raiden!

There's clearly a 5 second pause after the SSBB logo, at the press conference it would have appeared as a separate trailer for a Metal Gear game, until of course the zoom out of the cardboard box, "Show Time!" crowd goes nuts.

I only remember Kid Icarus from Captain N, but that screen shot of him looks fantastic! Is Kid Icarus a game that still holds up today? or did you have to "be there" to get it.

Not sure since I haven't played it since 86-87.

It was great though, right up there with the original Metroid.

I play it from time to time. It still holds up for me. Great game. The last level (4-1) is pretty tough.

The official site reopens in a few hours. There might be some good news coming from it.

Amazing that it's been nearly a year to the day that this thread was last active. Already a great day of news for Wii fans with the official dates for MP3 and Strikers, anything here is just gravy.

Half of my wishlist came true when Pit and Wario were revealed as playable fighters. The other two on my list are Ridley and Little Mac! I can't wait for the new info to hit...

Rotten, moldy-green gravy if it involves a spiky blue thing.

Are all those musicians actively working on the score or are they just being credited for existing works?

The website says:
This is dangerous. It's a little risky.
If you're wondering what I'm talking about, it's the line-up of musicians who are contributing to Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Just take a look at this list!

Seriously?! To have so many of these individuals providing music for a single work may very well be an historic event in the history of video-game music!
It's almost unthinkable!

Of course, Smash will let you enjoy music from a wide variety of Nintendo games.
A number of individuals have put their touch on these arrangements.

Using the game music that has entertained so many as the base for new arrangements by so many famed musicians... Not too shabby, eh?

Here on Smash Bros. Dojo, we will share that music with you through occasional trial listening. Since this is my first post, I thought I would give you an arrangement of the song you probably heard most often in Super Smash Bros. Melee, Menu 1.
Motoi Sakuraba headed up that arrangement!

They've got Mario & Link up on the characters page. It may take a couple days (or weeks), but I'm sure eventually we'll see a new announcement or two.

It says: "The hero of The Legend of Zelda series.
The design of this particular Link comes from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. "

Does that mean they'll have another particular Link? I have a feeling they're going to stick to only the TP Link design.

Melee had Link and Young Link as different characters. It just seems like a natural extension to me to move that to Twilight Princess Link and Wind Waker Link. That is, unless they opt to omit "alternate" characters..

A 'Wind Waker' young Link would be cool!
