Not to mention with a half dozen A list first party titles third parties would definitely suffer, and that is exactly where Nintendo needs to succeed this time out.

Wow! Nice job Nintendo! The Snake part in the trailer was so funny. Plus I love the new Samus Aran model!

I'm not ashamed to admit my Grapple Shot extended when I saw Samus spin out of her suit. In fact, I need a fix...

I would love to see Little Mac or Glass Joe from Punchout make the series. The idea of Glass Joe finally winning a fight by laying out Kirby makes me smile inside.

If that ever happened I would always use him to whoop people's asses. Kinda like Dan from Street Fighter. The ultimate insult.

They already have Jigglypuff as the "joke" character.

(Of course, if you played against me as Jiggly you'd be scared of her for the rest of your life!)

It's a fighting game with Mario. There's certainly room for more than one joke character. This certainly isn't Tekken.

This is SMOKING HOT (click to listen):

http://www.smashbros.com/en/music/index.html

The main theme was created for us by none other than famed Final Fantasy composer, Nobuo Uematsu!

Additionally, opera singer Ken Nishikiori has also participated in this project on vocals.

...And as a special service to readers of this site, I can say that the game's music will be performed by a full orchestra.

It will be a deluxe chorus complete with lyrics in Latin.

It's of a slightly different disposition than previous Smash Bros. games, wouldn't you say?

I also want to change the atmosphere of the game itself a little, too. But you'll just have to look forward to how I'll be doing that.

nice! the music in SSBM was one of the best soundtrack compilations in the history of gaming. Does that mean the possibility of Square-Enix characters too?! . Sora in SSBB....

I'm also glad they used the normal controller for this, that was a good choice .

The story on the official site is a fun read, I like this part:

Until the day comes when I can announce the team's name, I shall simply refer to them as "The Studio."

"Let's do it. Let's definitely do it!"
The words of The Studio's executive were very simple.

I was surprised when I saw the GameCube controllers they were using. The coating on the analog stick was worn down like an old eraser...
"Our guys have played Smash Bros. more than 10,000 times!"

It had to be a lie.
But when I saw their battle records, it showed a terrible number of matches that were not fabricated.

This was the result of years of uninterrupted playing of Smash Bros. during lunch breaks. There are often cases where your team doesn't understand the content of the game you're making, but that wouldn't be a concern this time.

Dude, don't even joke about that. The amount of awesome you are suggesting is bound to cause the universe to implode. The idea of performing a Trinity Limit on Ganondorf blows my mind.

I hope they don't ditch Samus' suit altogether. Hope fully it will be a dual character thing like Zelda/Sheik in SSBM.

Yeah, it's called coincidence, look it up! I mean, it just means "Sun", right? RIGHT? You guys will not get me thinking that Sora will be in this game until it is confirmed. That is a high that is to tall to fall from if it isn't true. I don't think I can take that.

I don't care if the KH team was finished with a "major project" when this project was starting up. COINCIDENCE I TELL YOU!

I will not think this is true. I can't, not yet. Not for my sanity.

However, I will never be happier in being wrong should it be true

Okay, after watching the trailer again I am COMPLETELY perplexed as to why they didn't close their press conference this this? Could you have imagined the response that would have had? Especially after Pit and Snake popped up, man it would've blown the roof off from audience cheers.

I have to agree. It would have really caught the eyes of people let down by the Sony conference too, seeing Snake in there (exclusive or not).

The only thing I would have changed would have had the trailer end with the Nintendo Wi-Fi logo showing. Eruption.

Finally watched the trailer. Three things:

1. The graphics looked awesome. I know some of it is pre-rendered, but considering how good Melee looked, I expect those are pretty close to gameplay graphics.

2. The reconaissance gag was classic.

3. SOLID SNAKE IN SUPER SMASH BROTHERS!

That is all.

Oooh, good call. If we're talking "What If" scenarios, I'd have removed the references to Smash Bros. from the comm. sequence and maybe just have been "We've received a special invitation from Nintendo," or something to leave the big reveal with Snake leaping out of his box.

And at the very end they DROP THE BOMB and announce 720p support for all 1st part games

(a guy can dream right?)

I hope they use Wind Waker Link instead of just Young Link this time.

Eh, clearly the codec sequence being in there at all tipped people that Snake would be in it. After all, who else would they put, Raiden?

Well it fades to black so some might have been fooled into thinking it was a preview for a different game with Snake. I don't know how these press coferences work.

Here's another good question I have been wondering?

Will this game have a main game? Playing through a level of each character? It would be neat to play through levels of Kid Icarus, etc., again (even if not the true game).
