Well, maybe the guide could help you out. To sum it up, it is a fairly in-depth fighting game with A TON of extra stuff. It's also a blast online.

I'm in the same boat. I picked it up because of all they hype and just can't get into it. And I think it takes a couple hundred matches to unlock some of the characters, so I guess I will never see those.

You can also unlock the characters by playing the SSE.

I'm sort of in the middle--I don't think it's "boring" but to me so far it feels like a button masher. I get that each character has different interpretations of "up attack" and "down attack" etc, and that's cool; I like that I don't have to memorize Up Half circle X O X to do a fireball for one character, and Full circle Down L L R for Spike from another character. I'm playing the Subspace Expedition or whatever it is, and I do like how many of the characters handle differently and have different advantages/disadvantages--but something with the core gameplay just isn't clicking with me. I can also appreciate that it's got a lot of depth, but if the core gameplay isn't fun for me, the depth is irrelevant. Does anyone have any tips on changing my perspective?

I personally can't stop playing the game. I get my butt whooped by better players but I'm learning better techniques slowly but surely.

I was really enjoying SSBB until I just got Mario Kart, now that's my new obsession (at least for now). Although it was a lot easier to unlock stuff in SSBB than it is in Mario Kart.

Curse you stupid Rainbow Road track!

Just got this for $26.99 shipped from Amazon Lightning. I've played a bit of 2 player brawl with my roommate. It seemed like a button masher, but then I looked at the instructions, and it sounds like the controls won't be that bad (that you would have to mash the buttons).

Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting into the SSE portion.

I'll probably get my ass handed to me as most people have 4 months or so on me... but I would give it a shot at least. I'll post my code as soon as I figure out what it is.

Do both players need the code or will it work if just one person has it? I know there was at least one game that worked using invites also.
