I might be wrong on that, but I would think that a launch anywhere near Sony's launch would do more damage to Sony than Nintendo.
Unless the PS3 is over $500, I think you are dead wrong. PS is the default video gaming system for the VAST majority of the population and they are likely to stick with Sony, unless Sony really drops the ball.

Nintendo has to overcome that.

Well i'll have to agree on many polls. I'm very excited for Nintendo at the upcoming E3 this month.

They are probably the only thing i'm looking forward to.

I'm "sort of" getting used to the Wii name now - its' a daft name yes, but everyone is talking about it. If it was called the Revolution (which is a very good name BTW) or Gamecube 2 would there be so much buzz? I don't think so. Wii is very unusual.
As for the embarrassment thing, I digress with that - I mean do people get embarrassed about asking for a Siemens phone, or a Smeg oven, or Virgin Airlines?

Well I guess it's time for me to jump into the ring on this forum.

I'm a pretty avid gamer, although I hardly have time for it (or money because that usually goes to DVDs), but I usually buy a dozen or so games a year, depending on the year.

I was a Nintendo fanboy I guess you could say through NES, SNES, and N64, but gave up on them when N64 ended. I played a bit of PS1 and PS2, and ended up buying an XBox last year and I enjoy it, but I'm pretty bad at most of the games, and I don't have LIVE due to my University's restrictions on internet, so it's been a decent experience, but a lot of the games that are "highly rated" seem to bore me.

With my limited time and funds I have little or no interest in XBox 360, but I will say that Wii has really spiked my interest again in gaming. I'm looking forward to the new controller, as well as the possibility of playing older games onlne and such. I just like the idea that Nintendo is focusing on gameplay rather than graphics for these games, and are really trying something new. Hopefully it'll work well.

Oh and I also think the name is pretty bad.

Perhaps they're only UK/Europe brands? And no, they don't get embarrased AFAIK.
At least I've never heard anyone say "Can I have a smeg?" (if you watch Red Dwarf you'll know why smeg is taboo slang). However in Europe there are/were names like BUMS (biscuits), PEE (a sort of cola in France I think) and KRAP toilet paper from Sweden
The name wii is pretty bad, but at the end of the day its just a name - Gamecube was OK I guess but rather blandly descriptive - Nintendo had to think of a way of catching people's attention, so now its all or nothing. This is either a great blunder or a stroke of marketing genius.

New Rayman Wii shot and marketing pic out. Rayman to ride a giant spider and fight evil bunnies while wearing a giant pink afro and giant sunglasses
Its getting alot discussion and WTF moments on forums. I think its hilarious actually because clearly the game will look alot better once we actually see more then one pic that is not also attached to a marketing one with a punker rocker kid showing us how to play it. ROFL. Ancel having one with this one.

Huh, what exactly is your problem with that? Unprofessionalism should be called on when gets that blantant. I know my sister is glad for it, otherwise it goes on deaf ears as she trys to tell her other hairstylists to use some common sense and not bad mouth others in front on customers, blare rap music all day or brag about how many guys you banged last week

Hopefully the bunnies do the same howling as the ones in the Wallace & Gromit movie.

Well, Siemens sounds in German not a bit funny.

And....Pilotwings for Wii confirmed? http://capnsmak.1up.com/do/blogEntry...UserId=4561231

Friends of mine tell me Pilotwings is absolutely perfect - it's something anyone can pick up and enjoy. Nintendo's changing all of the rules - they've created an experience anyone can enjoy. They've created a system for everyone.
I never played a Pilotwings game. That will change in some months.

I've always expected the same price of the Gamecube at launch, $199.

Mike, on the first page I have a more complete list of all games "confirmed" to be in development. I did not include Nights since its only a rumor etc. Additional example: Pilotwings is not on the list, despite multiple "sources", it has yet to be confimed by Nintendo.

Since pre-launch game lists usually only end up being about 70% accurate I'm keeping the list to confirmed games to prevent false hype and confusion.

I thought you mentioned a few pages back that you weren't going to post anything unless they were officially announced. Oh well.

Yeah, I've shifted from official announcment to confirmation from developers. No rumors though. I just added the Rayman game, thanks for catching that I forgot about it.

Everyone: As you see new games that are confirmed by the developers please post it here with a link, I will update accordingly.
