I thought it was weak but would still work. the box says NVIDIA Geforce FX series (which I thought I had). the opening video and credits were perfect, so I figured the gameplay would fly. If worse comes to worse, I can hook up a different computer that has a better video card. thanks for the help all.

ah, thanks. I didn't know it was for me either. Anyway, I uninstalled Sonic DLA and that fixed the problem. I'd been having issues for some time and finally got a "blue screen of death" and was able to find that it was this Sonic thing. I can now get to the character creation so I think I'm good to go, although I'm sure I need to do the oldblivian thing. thanks all!

FYI, I checked out the ruin. You were on the second level. There are three different ways to get back up to the first level, but that also meant 3 different ways to get back to the second level. I can see where you'd get turned around in there.
You do know that when you used the map tab that's farthest to the left that you can run the cursor over the door markers and they'll tell you where they go right? That's the easiest way to figure out where to go. Also, if you make your active quest any quest that's located outside the area you are in, a red marker will show up in the map on the exit you need to take to get to the quest location.

Thanks, no I wasn't aware of that. I am new to this game. I hadn't played any prior Elder Scrolls games either.

I have the tower download but can't figure out how to travel to the mages guilds fom there. Do I need to buy something before that is available? Also where is this ring in the tower?

I'm impressed with the amount of stuff in this download. I thought the horse armor was BS so I passed on that one. This one seemed like a better deal and once I bought it I realized it was a great deal. I can't wait to fire up the game and mess around in the tower even more.

I didn't travel until i had purchased anything so i can't guarantee you can yet. What you do though is go through a teleport to an outside location onthe tower (not the tip of the spire though) and there is a long line of teleports one to each guild. I'm also currently kicked out.
The ring shows up in a jewelry box in the bedroom after you buy some of the furniture.

The exact location of the teleports to each of the Mage guilds is outside the bedroom.
When you walk into the tower, use the teleport to the living area. There is a door there opposite of the garden. If you go outside, you will see each of the teleports there.
The ring is on the tall bookcase in the living area.
I also read more of the tombstones I mentioned earlier. I didn't test it out, as I played CoD2 last night.
But, supposedly, there is a couple tombstones in one of the corners on a hill in the vault. Also, in the wine rack down there, you get a bottle of Shadowbanish wine that is part of an easter egg quest.

Finally! 1000/1000. I wasn't playing to complete it quickly, but still, it was something along the line of 120 hours + 10 hours at least of games I had to reload due to dying / glitches etc.

I'm still shy 7 vampire dusts to getting back into the mages guild and doing that quest line. Then it is only the fighter guild and the main storyline. Do you fight many vamps in the fighter storyline? If so i could jump on that now and work on it while collecting dusts for the mages.

I should wrap up my last two achivements tonight to give me 1000/1000 points.
I'm about 121 hours of game time, plus extra for locking up and glitches that caused me to restart my system a few times.

One thing that sucks is that I've missed the fighter's guild champion achievement due to a glitch. Don't know if I'll ever get it unless Bethesda does a patch for it. Hopefully my wife won't get the glitch as she plays through it.

Also, the azura shrine quest requires killing about 5 vampires.

I've only done the Arena. I think I'll finish the Mage Guild quests in another night or two. Then I still have the Thieves, Fighters and Dark Brotherhood quests, of which I've started none of! I'm only about 1/5th done with the Main Quest too, if that.

Well.. finished up the game last night. I still ahve a bunch of side quests to do. But, the main story line is finished.
I almost thought I was going to have to start over though, at one point.
For those that completed the game. It isn't too big of a spoiler, but to be safe it does contain info about the end of the game.
Ran into glitch with the game.

I'm pretty early in the main quest. I was escorting 2 guys to a location across the map and at one point, they seemed to be 'stuck' (wouldn't follow me). So I ride my horse over and talk to one of them in the hopes that it will trigger something. The guy was mounted on a horse and when the screen zoomed in for his closeup, I noticed that he was starting to lean back. But then I realized that his head was moving and it wasn't stopping. For the entire 'conversation', his head was moving behind his shoulders, behind his back, through his stomach and up again, in a counter-clockwise circular motion.
We were near an Oblivion gate. Maybe that's some weird side affect of standing too close to a gate.

Is anyone else using the Light Rainment of Valor that you get after winning the Gladiator matches? I am currently using it, but it seems like I have to get it repaired after every quest I go on. Is this normal?
I took one hit from a mud crab, while blocking and It dropped 20%. Also do robes count for an armour class?

Robes give you no armor protection. You can see how much protection you have when you are on the screen with all the armor and items you can wear. Down at the bottom, there is a number next to what looks like a small shield icon. That is your armor rating. While wearing a robe, that number will read 0.

For the last of the main quest, I enchanted some items. I really love being able to make my own enchanted items and spells.
used 3 sigil stones that give 30% chameleon. I had to remove the 2 items I used 2 sigil stones to give me 150 points of feather each. I love me some sigil stones.
I then enchanted a robe with chameleon using a soul gem, 20% chameleon.
2 rings, and amulet and a robe = 110% chameleon. I am beyond invisible.

I'm using a mix of deadric and glass armor right now, which has my spell effectiveness rating at 95%. The only way to get that higher is to wear no armor.
My suggestion would be to do the Mage Guild recommendation quests ASAP, learn a protection spell from someone, buy a grand soul gem with a grand soul in it (assuming you don't find one on your own) and then make a sheild that fits your character (ie. light vs. heavy armor) with the grand soul gem and the protection spell. That should give you a pretty decent bump in armor, and everytime you get better armor, you'll get an additional boost from the enchanted sheild. (Or use boots or gloves...anything that doesn't scale very much in armor rating so you don't miss out by not upgrading it...necklaces or rings would work too, but I tend to use those for a variety of specific enchantments (resistances, night eye, speed, blade) and wouldn't want to sacrifice those slots for something I'd want active all the time).
