Also, seeing that the Revoltion is WiFi, would Nintendo be able to tell automatically if you hacked your system. Just a random thought.

It would be awesome to store stuff on my external, though.

When played on Revolution, the new Gamecube Zelda will use the features of the Revolution controller:

Man, I will be pissed if we have to hold off on Zelda for that long but using the Revolution controller would be awesome.

At last showing the system utilized SD cards. Nintendo previewed an SD memory card for the Gamecube over 4 years ago, they appear to like the format. Nothing is certain at this point though. Designing a proprietary memory medium would come late in the design cycle.

The Rev. sports USB ports as well, so in theory any plug in flash USB drive should work as well.

That is great news. I can wait. My GC is collecting dust right now anyway waiting on Zelda.

IGN needs to update their top 10 reasons to wait on Rev. now. Or at least add a 10.5.

Did anyone else find out that the magazine is from the UK so maybe November is a British launch date and since Europe is usually last, maybe the US can have a nice and sweet September or Auguest launch.

I thought it was in this thread somewhere that other than Japan the rest of the world would launch at/close to the same time.

I think his mind will change once he uses it. I think most casual gamers are just used to the usual controller and reluctant to change, but I think most people will want to try it because it is different. If it is as good as Nintendo says it is, it will win people over.

Don't know if this is new news or not!

Nintendo revolution will be below $299

Price war begins

By Nick Farrell: Friday 30 December 2005, 08:10

IT LOOKS like there will be a bit of a price war looming between the game gear makers next year.
Nintendo’s President Satoru Iwata has in the past hinted that the next generation Nintendo will hit the shelves at a cheaper price than the competition.

Now in an interview with Yahoo Japan it seems that he is prepared to hint, somewhat inscrutably, that the price of the beast will be less than $299, which is the cost of the Xbox 360's standard package.

You can read a ‘translation’ of his comments here.

Well, as much as I am looking forward to the new system. A price above $199 launch will force me to wait, $249 is possible, but the launch titles would have to blow me away.

Even at $199, the launch titles would have to be good for me to buy. $249 they'd have to be stellar as I've never paid more than $199 for a consle.

Under $300? Must be a slow gaming-news day. That tidbit is from the land of the obvious.

What if PilotWings was a launch title?

i'd pre-order at $300 if Nintendo had Rare still and launched with Blast Corps. Maybe even $400.

What if PilotWings was a launch title?
I would probably have to sell some blood to pay for the difference.

Looks like the BBC thinks it is going to launch in July in Japan and September in US and 2007 for Europe. That would be awesome if it was like the Ipod announcements, though.

This news was hilarious to me.

I thought the foregone conclusion was around $150 for the tech they are using.

Why not change the news to,

This just in, breaking news!!! The Revolution will cost less than $600!!! Believe it!

Yeah I saw that too. It isn't really a denial though, unless there is more to the quote than this second article says. They say that the first article is speculation and that no announcement has been made, but they don't actually say that the first article is wrong.

That's the way I read it Jeremy. Not really a denial at all. Just a "we're not ready to show our hand" type situation.
