I'm using the D-Link Dl-624, xbox compatible listed right on the box. Based on comments here I'm not too sure about that statement.

The following link explains how you can download demos and stuff from other countries (Japan, etc...). It's very, very easy:

That sure seems like a lot of work just to get a demo.

It takes less than five minutes, if that.

Lazy.

But do Japan and Germany, etc. get different demos than we do? And what are they?

I think I'm just going to go buy a huge ethernet cable tomorrow and not bother with wireless for the xbox. I never had issues with the original xbox when i was hard wired so I'm thinking that would solve my problems.

I have heard that certain 360 games are region free. Is that true?

If so, I'll be buying this game for sure:

http://www.gamebrink.com/viewitem.ph...040&preview=66

I'm sure I'm the only one here who cares about it, but that looks awesome.

That is what I did. I went to Office Max (or maybe Depot) and bought a 50' cable for $30 and ran it through the floor and plugged in my 360. A savings of $70, plus I don't really ever need to worry about interference.

On a side note, I was on ;ive, sending a bunch of invites last night, and my live kept saying I was disconnected and I would have to reconnect. When I was playing PGR3 I didn't have any disconnections. I wonder if my cable company was having problems or if there is an issue?

It doesn't look like most games are region free. Here, read this thread:

http://forum.lik-sang.com/showthread.php?t=9766

Here is a list with confirmed games that are region free or that work on systems with other regions.

Working on Xbox 360 systems of all origins:

Call of Duty 2 US
Condemned: Criminal Origins US
Gun US
Quake 4 US
Tony Hawks : American Wasteland US

Working on Xbox 360 PAL:

Dead or Alive 4 US (Console needs to be set to 60Hz or controllers won't work)
Ridge Racer 6 US (doesn't matter if 50Hz or 60Hz)

Japanese Games with English voice/text/menu support:

Ridge Racer 6 (complete english, not region-free)
Perfect Dark Zero (complete english, not region-free)
Project Gotham Racing 3 (complete english, not region-free, confirmed by Bizarre)
Dead or Alive 4 (complete english, not region-free)
King Kong (complete english, not region-free)
Kameo (complete english, not region-free, confirmed by Rare)

Did you hear about other titles (from USA, Europe or Japan) also not being
region-locked? Please let us and the whole world know by adding the games
name to this thread!

This list will be progressively updated as new titles are discovered.

Also, this page states this:

So the XBOX 360 isn't region free but many of the games are and will be. The following games have been confirmed to be region free. Once GameBrink receives its 360 on Tuesday and whenever we get credible reports we will update this list, which is part of our ever growing Ultimate Import Game FAQ.

US REGION FREE:
Quake 4
Call of Duty 2
Condemned
Ridge Racer 6
Amped 3
GUN
Tony Hawk's American Wasteland.

UPDATE: All Japanese releases thus far are NOT region free. The games above are the US versions and ARE region free.

I'm wondering the same thing. I upgraded my routers firmware this morning but was able to stay connected using my wireless bridge for a good long while (played perfect dark zero and didn't have any disconnects). I think I'll wait another few days and see if it's still an issue before spending the money on a cable.

This must be more of a problem with your fighting technique or punch selection. I just knocked down BHop 5 times in 3 rounds. Counters and combos are the key.

Has anyone tried Burnout Revenge for the 360 yet? It was running in the Dolby Digital booth at CES. Gameplay-wise it seems to be exactly the same as the Xbox and PS2 version, but OMG those graphics. Stunning shiney real-time reflections and BLAZING speed. It blows PGR3 and Ridge Racer away. Also the crashbreaker explosions are mind-boggling. Really unbelievable. If you haven't bought this game yet, wait. If you got the Xbox version - sell it now. Really it's that pretty.

Using either the game controller or the bonus remote that came with the premium bundle, does anybody know how to display the time remaining when watching a DVD? I've been able to display the time elapsed, but can't seem to figure out how to switch to time remaining, if its even possible.

I saw this posted by a financially inept forum member over at TeamXbox. Apparently, his girlfriend was unhappy when she found out he was spending her last sixty bucks on a Xbox 360 game. So she combined DOA4 with a Whirlpool Flat glasstop stove.

Here's a tech question guys:

When I turn on the Xbox 360 using any of the "on" buttons (system, remote, or controller), my 360 doesn't initially turn on. The system light will go on but no signal will be sending through to my TV and receiver. I sometimes have to shut the 360 off once or twice and restart before it kicks on. Any ideas or should I just let it wait longer to boot?

I purposely sold my old XBOX so I wouldn't be tempted to buy Burnout Revenge. I knew I had to wait and get it on the 360. I really REALLY hope other people on here are going to buy this so I have others to play with.

The game is not released until at least MARCH from what I heard....so no, I have no t tried it yet.

Also, for the guy with the DI-624 router. Try updating the firmware...if it still disconnects you at random contact D-Link. LOTS of problems with that router. I sold it and bought a Linksys WRT54G and it works great. I had to reset it a few time though, which I thought was odd.

I only held out on Burnout Revenge because of EA's last minute, 12 o' clock hour decision to raise the price $10.
When it was due to come out at $39, I was all over it. At $49, I easily passed. Especially when you can expect it to be $15 in a matter of weeks (that didn't happen either).

Looks like a demo of PGR3 (1.25 GB) is now available for download.

No kidding! I'm at about 73% now.

I really wish you could do other stuff on the 360 while it downloads.
