sweet gonna grab the fight night demo now. this almost makes up for the lack of easily rentable 360 games (well with the exception of Gamefly).
Edit-wow this is downloading VERY slowly.

Mine downloaded pretty quickly. Nice looking demo overall. A little bit more detail outside the ring could have been better instead of the blur factor, but the fighters looked great. I love the slo-mo instant replays of the knockdown punches. I also seemed like the controls need tightening, but I'm unfamilar with the control scheme, so maybe not.

Don't get me wrong, Madden and CoD2 look fantastic on the 360, two of the best looking games I've ever seen, but FN3 is truly, honest to God, what people mean when saying "next-gen". It is as if you are in control of an actual CGI film or something, it's unreal.
The demo plays fine to me, but I'm sure everything will be touched up for the final release. All in all, this demo totally sold me on the final game, no questions asked.
I don't really know what else to say other than that I'm simply blown away right now, big time. I can't imagine how it looks in HD.

No, it's just single player.
Check this thread out, full of pictures of the game in action:

Gameplay was a bit strange to me. I never really felt like my punches had any power behind them. I haven't played the previous games so maybe it's just the way things are. The slow-mo hits were outstanding but the blood spurts from the mouth needs some work to look right.

Holy crap those graphics on fight night are awesome. I didn't care much for the gameplay (it felt too slow, like boxing underwater) but the graphics in 1080i are CRAZY!!

I'm not that big a fan of the gameplay either. It definitely does feel very slow.
I think I liked Ready 2 Rumble Boxing better.
Btw, does anyone know how to do a 'haymaker' in Config 3? It's annoying that it doesn't describe any of the config layouts anywhere until AFTER you select to use it.

Anyone else feel they need glasses to play the 360? I have never felt this way when playing video games, but I find in the 360 I have a difficult time in any of the racing games. In PGR I can barely make out the cones half the time. On the xbox I never had this problem and it is on the same tv, same settings, and same input. IS the non hd just darker?

In the FN3 demo, how do you block? It says that the right trigger is for blocking, but when I press it, it does nothing. I tried moving while holding it down, punching, etc, and he never blocks for me...what the hell?

To block, you need to hold down RT and move the right thumbstick to the part of the body that is going to be hit. There six different ways to move it - straight head shot, left, and right and then a straight body shot, left, and right. If you time it just right, it will also counter and will open the other guy up and give you a chance to go full blast with a combo.
I had a slight problem with the controls earlier, but the more I play it the more I get the hang of it. I've also found that if you play the game well, the punches are hardly slow at all. When you get "in the zone", you can pull off punches very quickly.
When you take body shots, miss punches, etc... all of that leads to your stamina dropping, and that leads to a lot of the slow punches. Now that I have the hang of it (I'm still not great though), I'm having fantastic rounds over and over again, with tons of action.

Just played the demo after a 30 min. download...
I played Round 2 quite a bit last year, so I was familiar enough with the controls. They haven't changed much there. No real problem with that really. Using the right analog stick to punch made the boxing genre much more interesting to me all of a sudden instead of just mashing buttons.
Noticed that it looks like this'll be the first EA title that uses the ESPN license.
Graphics do look good, but of course still need some work. When you hit a guy his head kinda jerks like he was a South Park character. The voice overs will need to sync up a little better too. But I'm sure all the cosmetic stuff will be addressed.
Had the 360 not had downloadable demos, I never would have purchased Need for Speed. Now it looks like the demo has interested me enough in Round 3 to follow its progress and consider a purchase. Very smart concept these downloadable demos are.

Microsoft's CES presentation also had revelations for current Xbox 360 owners. In an almost offhanded remark, Gates said that one of Capcom's most popular old-school arcade titles, Street Fighter 2, will be available via Xbox Live Marketplace later in the year. If poker is your game, it was also revealed that a new Texas-hold-'em-game will be available this year as well.
I hope the Texas hold Em game has an option of using real marketplace points to wager.

Same here. I really enjoy the Zuma and Geometry Wars demos, but for some reason I just haven't pulled the trigger and bought them. However, I'll be all over Street Fighter when it's released.
Awesome news, that.
