I've been trying out Live for the 1st time ever(gotta love the free trial) and its fun but it sucks at the same time. I am in no way a pro gamer and it shows when I'm playing. I can barely even keep up with other racers no matter what I drive(PGR3). hell, most of the time I can't even finish the race I get so far behind. now today I'm in a race and some other guy is driving the same car as I am but he's up there in the race(around 2nd or 3rd) and he clips the other racers intentionally and causes them to crash. they start bitching about the guy and what car he's in. the guy didn't win the race though. now I'm way in last place and after the race I get hit with a bad rep. I got blamed for the other guys crap. I didn't even realize it until I was waiting for the next race and everytime a few people would come in I'd here something like "screw this, that guy is here". so now I have a 100% unsporty tag for something I didn't even do. that kinda sucks.

Yah, I actually rented PGR as well. But I've read some threads where they say that you get bad rep when playing this game pretty quickly, as you may be involved in crashes frequently specially if you're new to the game. That is why I'm wary of playing this game online myself.

Maybe that's why I'm in the recreational category...

That is just fucked up. It is a race, accidents happen, especially with new people to the game. If someone is that friggin sensitive they shouldn't be on live. They can play against the computer AI.

Hey all. First post so pardon me if this is in the wrong thread. I've been playing COD2 online and having a blast (despite some lag issues). This is the first time I've played online and was wondering if the COD2 online multiplayer is pretty much on par with other FPS multiplayer games or is it better than most? I want to get PD0 for the online aspect also. If you guys can recommend any others (doesn't necessarily have to be a FPS) that would be much appreciated. Also I was wondering if there were an games coming out that allow for 4 player co-op on a split screen. My friends and I want to try some co-op missions. I know PD0 allows for 2 player co-op.

Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter
Publisher: Ubisoft
Developer: Ubisoft
Genre: Tactical Shooter
Release Date: February 2006
Tactical and systematic by nature, the gameplay of Ghost Recon is broadening out to include a handful of military advancements off and online to get you riled. Ubisoft has created what it calls the "Cross-Com," a communication device powered by satellite technologies. Attached to the monocle of a soldier, the Cross-Com enables your soldier and you full situational awareness and command of the battlefield. You can command Ghost squads, remote allied forces, and drones, and they can call in artillery and air strikes for heavier, more visually impressive destruction. GRAW features four-person online co-op, and 16-player online multiplayer games (featuring four entirely exclusive maps). And of equal importance is the game looks light years better than it did at X05 in October. Check this clip to become a true believer.
From what I hear, COD2 has very limited multiplayer, so if you enjoy that then everything else will be as good or better. PD0 is supposed to have excellent multiplayer.
If you are new to Xbox in general, grab a cheap copy of Halo 2...warning: this is the top dog of online multiplayer, every other game is compared to it, like it or not. It is addicting, but best played with people you know. Be prepared to be belittled by a bunch of 14 year olds. Once you play Halo 2 and get used to all the features (not necessarily the game play, but all the available options) you will find your self playing other games wishing they offered half of the features.
As far as 360 goes, your other online options are primarily sports games (and the live arcade
) and racing games.

I cannot believe it's up to $4,500 right now! Hopefully that's a false bid, or someone is just plain DUMB.
Ghost Recon is shaping up to be good...I pre-ordered already

Wow, the guy bidding on it must be a Nascar fan....a rich one that is! All his past purchases are for Nascar stuff
So, do you think we should start listing all the D/L content that is worth anything? Like new levels, new Live Arcade games (not gamer pics though or themes). I know we had a D/L content thread for the original XBOX.

Also, is Gauntlet really deserving of the 51% from GameRankings?

Not sure if this has been posted yet or not...
For those interested, Xbox.com now gives previews for all the available gamer pictures and themes that you can download through the Marketplace.
This is really cool news, cuz I would have NEVER paid for any of those themes/pictures w/o seeing what they look like first.

Temporarily removed firewalls and spyware, but still no luck. I actually called microsoft and they are unable to resolve this yet, so was hoping someone else has a creative solution to this problem.
Don't know if this will help or not, but I didn't know it when it happened to me. When you go to xbox.com/pcsetup and get the file, don't hit run and instead download it. Once you have the file on your comp right click and choose to open/explore. You should then see more files which can be extracted much like a zip/winrar. From those there is a setup file which is the one that will actually make it all work. Now go to Start/ control panel/ audio devices (I think... I'm at work) and you should see windows media connect.
I know that's not the best explanation, but hopefully it guides you in the right direction. Anyhoo, that's how I finally got mine to work.
