I'm guessing the guy was just talking about the periond between thanksgiving and X-mas. 300,000 X-boxes where sold at launch, so that makes 50,000 since then reasonable give how damn scarce they have been.

That makes sense, but do you think only 50,000 were available between Thanksgiving and Christmas? I would hope that the figure was in the hundreds of thousands.

Well, I'm sure a story will be posted soon, giving us the exact figures.

Considering that most stores only received one shipment between initial launch and Christmas, 50,000 sounds about right.

There were none at my local Wal-Mart, but a small line outside Sam's again (which is across the street) so maybe they have some more.

I did, I did. I was in too much of a hurry at the time I suppose. I knew if I kept it they'd eventually get them in and have to fill orders, but figured with all my efforts, including getting in line 16 hours before opening at Best Buy on the 18th, would pay off before KMart got any instock. Though every attempt failed.

I actually received about $100 to Best Buy over the holidays that I'd like to use toward the 360, but I suppose I could get the console elsewhere and use that money toward games. I'm even going to sell my original Xbox and games (all of which I'm finished with), which will also go toward a 360. I've learned my lesson and am going to be patient with this from now on.

Was out doing some more shopping today (again, the stores were MOBBED!) and stopped by another Target, another Best Buy, Toys R Us, and an FYE. FYE and TRU had empty boxes on the floor so I had to check to make sure they were empty which they were. No site of an actual 360 at any of the places. I was on the fence before but now I think I'm just going to wait until the supply goes up and the demand dies down a bit (which I know could be a long while).
The good thing is that will give me some time to get some additonal cash saved up so it won't be as big of a hit to my wallet.

Hmm, once again a Circuit City about 13 or so miles from me is showing them as in stock. It showed it as being in stock a few days ago, then out of stock, now in stock again. While they might not have them at the moment, it seems like they're getting them more frequently than the Circuit City just down the road from me. Maybe I'll take a trip over there.

i just swung by my local walmart. they had a sign in the video games section saying their january 1st circular will have an advert for the xbox 360. each store will have at least 12 in stock. no mention was made about number of premium/core systems. YMMV.

So I went to that other Circuit City, another Target (that makes 3 different ones I've been too), a CompUSA, and a second Toys R Us. Nothing.
I guess I'll see if the Walmart thing pans out on 1/1 but barring some reports of huge stockpiles of 360s coming in, I'm not going to make looking for a 360 a reason to hit up the stores. If I have to go there to get something else I'll look but otherwise it's just a waste of time I think.

Ok.. So I lied. Looks like the kids, home for Christmas Break, received and signed for my Kmart-delivered 360 today, not yesterday.

My daughter has a ps2 at "home", and occasionally plays animal crossing and disney skate on a gc I have in her room with us.

My stepson doesn't have the money or grades to get one right now, and he knows it (I say that now until I see it hooked up when I get home)...

Though, coincidentally, there is 80% of a 360 in my house right now, pgr3, pd0, and CoD2. He had a friend over last night, who brought everything but half the power cord (the part with the power supply box on it). Too bad the kid lives about 25 minutes away. Ooopsie!

No power cord, that sucks. Must have been fun staring at it.

Asked at a few places, just looked at others. Barring there being one in a backroom somewhere where I didn't ask, they were all out.

Part of the problem may be that I've been getting a late start (not getting out to the stores until around noon or so) so if they were to come in, the early birds would've snatched them up already.

Core bundles keep showing up on Amazon, and are gone within an hour, and sometimes way faster. I can't believe people are that desperate for a Core system!

At this point, if I found a Premium in the store, I'd buy it on principle. Otherwise I'm done with this shit...but I'm definitely putting my preorder for the Revolution in as early as possible.

I was at my mother's house when my brother got a call saying Best Buy just got 28 in. Of course it would have to be 6:00 PM and the other side of town, but I figured what the hell and drove over. I scored myself a premium. They were not putting them out and would only admit they had one if you asked for one.

Now the bigger decision to keep or not. No I don't mean to put on ebay, but I just don't know if I want it lol. I only bought it since I could. I am tempted to wait for DOA to come out, but other than that the games just don't excite me right now. Currently it is sitting in the trunk of my car since I don't know what I am going to do lol.

Well, DOA4 is supposed to be shipping to stores today, so...

I felt the same way after playing mine, trying to justify keeping it, and then deciding to get rid of it.

Hmm maybe my best buy is the playing the same game, not putting them on the floor. Maybe I'll call tomorrow and ask if they have them but unless I get a definite yes, I won't be heading out looking again.

Also check the xbox thread on Tivocommunity. Someone posted a list of store numbers and alotments. It was not all stores and I believe this was store 566 which did get 28 as listed.
