On the ever-so-slightly bright side, spending 3 hours in a heated car and not getting one beats the hell out of spending 10-12 hours in the frigid cold and getting the shaft.

A friend and I went out around 8 tonight, thinking that would be plenty early enough to get in line. First Best Buy we went to was supposed to be getting 28 and we counted 30 people in line. So we continued to move on, from store to store, hitting 6 in the Indianapolis area. Every single one had more people than will get Xboxes. The worst was a store that was supposed to be getting 24 and had 60+ people in line. I'm pretty surprised both at the number of people willing to spend the night in the cold and at how early they lined up. Oh well, I'll just have to settle for getting one after Christmas. Hell, maybe Sony will announce a spring launch date in the next week or two and convince me to hold out for a PS3.

THere was no one an hour ago when I called him. he is sleeping now so I can't have him look again. You will also drive right past Mansfield which is at 71 and route 30. You could always stop there first on your way and see what the line is like and then head to Wooster.

Well my friend is in the mood to do something stupid and I have nothing better to do. I was planning on sitting in the cold all evening.

No sooner. No later.

And sorry about my previous comments, I was way off. The line tonight is longer than the one for launch.

Crazy fk'ers. (it's 35 and raining here)
Good luck At 8:55 they will be long gone.

There is a 24 hour wal-mart right across the street and I believe that the McDonalds is still 24 hours there also. I would stop at the Mansfield store along the way and you may get lucky and that is only an hour away. Get some hand warmers to drop in your shoes and you will be fine.

How so? Store opens at 9 AM tomorrow, and they aren't doing number cards like they did at launch. So unless they break into the store, they'll still be there. Me getting one or not, when they open, will be another thing.

I believe that all Best Buy stores are opening at 8:00 tomorrow.

Yeah, you're right, was looking at the wrong Extended Hours, so subtract an hour from what I said earlier.

Don't know about all stores, but one of the ones I visited this evening told me they would be handing out number cards about 20 minutes before opening...

Just got back. Hit up 2 BBs and they both were packed. Oh well. How long after Christmas do you think I can walk into a store with relative ease and get one.

I'd say at least a month. Say by the first of February at the latest.

Man oh man. Just got home from quite a journey. Thought we almost had some when we pulled up to a Best Buy 115 miles away from my home with only 10-15 people waiting in the front. It turned out they were holding places for everyone they knew, so those 10-15 really counted for 30 people! Some asshole tried to sell us on of his three spots for $100, because he “felt bad for us driving all that way”! But what can you do when all of them are in cahoots and no one policing the situation? Their friends and family would all show up a half hour before the store opened and we would have waited in line for hours for absolutely nothing.

Not the end of the world, and I’m glad I’m home rather than in that line freezing my ass off right now.

Anyway, time for some rest…

I'll be damned if I would have taken that excuse. I would have waited anyway. There'd be hell to pay, especially if I drove as far as you (you're crazy by the way )

went to 3 Best Buys in Boston area. 2 had lines of over 100 people. Last one I went to said they were getting 38. I was #38. They only got 30. Count me as one of those who will never support Microsoft again. PS3 here I come. Enough of this shit.

If that is the case, then you have a legit gripe, as the ad clearly states that a MINIMUM of 20 would be available in EACH store on Sunday morning. If they sold them on Saturday and had none on Sunday, then that is false advertising.

Normally, I'm not one to raise hell, but in this case I would strongly suggest otherwise.
