By the way if anyone wants acorns, I got one from mom, planted it, and now got a town full of acorns.

I've heard that flowers can cross-pollinate... so red and white roses, put next to each other, will make pink roses. Not sure exactly how it works, and I have yet to experiment with it.

Also, I thought someone said the insurance only lasts a week... I didn't see the insurance guy last Sunday, and this is week 2 of him sending me 100 bell claims for bee stings.

How do you get your house so it's in the middle of town when you first start out? I've tried resetting a couple of time, I'd like it near the middle, or is it random. It's always on top or the top right, or the top left next to the mountain.

A quick story about why I asked in the first place:

I opened up my gates for a while, and a guy came in I was talking to the other night. He came into my small house, and saw that in the back of the house (the second one you get) I had the Throne. He said that he'd like to trade for it, and told me he had a space helmet and stuff like that. I thought about it, but before I did so I went to GameFAQs to see how much people were giving for it. It turns out, people were giving 500k-1mil for the Throne.

I went back, and before I could tell the guy that, he said he'd buy it from me for 5k, then he said 10k, and finally he said 15k. He claimed that I should sell it to him, and that I could just order another one for myself. I figured he was just trying to get it for cheap, because he was acting very weird about it, and kept saying that I could just order another one in the future.

Is it true I can just order one again, or is this a very rare item?

Either way, I'm 800k bells richer.

I just went to the town of the guy who bought the throne from me, and his house was insane. He wanted it because it was the final piece he needed for the main room of his house (he had about six rooms or so). The main room had all kind of Egyptian and Japanese stuff in it, and the throne is now in the middle.

He had one room of just awesome Nintendo items, another of various games, another TV room, a huge kitchen, etc...

I didn't know you could do so much with this tiny game.

If not a special gift item (IE. from pascal, gulliver, mayor, etc) it should appear in your catalog when you speak to Nook. From there you can order it again

Actually some items that you buy off the shelf at Nook's or the Able sisters aren't for sale in the catalog. I know from first hand experience that the Royal Crown is not for sale in the catalog, although it costs 1.2 million at the tailor.

Anyone complete the snowman set yet? Or know when you stop being able to make snowmen? I keep making one out of every two imperfect...

I didn't buy it, but PrincessT had one that somebody gave her, and she let me try it on so it would be in my catalog. It shows up in the catalog, but you can't buy it.

The guide says thru mid February so get those snowballs rollin! :-)

Has anyone tried burying bells to make a bell tree yet?

I did and it didn't work but I only buried 1K because Im a cheap bastid. Apparently there is a percentage about whether it will grow or not:
1K - 1% Chance
2K - 2% Chance
10K - 10% Chance
50K - 50% Chance
and so on all the way up to 100K. Problem is the highest amount a tree can yield is 90k (3 30K bags) and only sprouts money once. Also, you can not plant more than 1 money tree a day. I saw this info over at gamefaqs and the most popular method is to bury 45K - so if it does sprout you get double your money if it doesnt at least eventually you'll break even.
