There's a cat in my town who seems to think she's lost her kitten somewhere in Erotic...

Let me know when you can open up your gate.

For the time being, I'll open mine, so everybody's welcome to come on over. Nookington's had its grand opening

Just got my copy. First I went to Best Buy and the Sales guy basically laughed at me when I asked for it. He said no way, that is the hottest DS game on the market I would have to wait. So I stopped over to Costco and they had about 5 copies, snagged one there can't wait to play.

I've opened up my town a few times, but I'm in a situation where it's not as convenient to post here.

What's up with the 6000 bell insurance for forged paintings? I hear that he only gives 100 bells anyway, but he wouldn't let me say no!

Yeah, I paid it and turned one in yesterday to get a big 100 bells back. Total rip off. I have used the accident a ton though.

I've been working a lot of hours so I haven't haven't had a ton of time to open the town or go out, but I do have Nookingtons now and I'm woking on that 298,000 bell house payment. I'm going to try and catch up on stuff today now that I have a chance to play for awhile and I'll try and open my town later today.

Wow that's all you get back? I'm definitely never talking to that guy anymore since I thought he would at least give you half the value of the painting back. I mean you have to buy it every week.

Anyone else feel it costs way too much to pay your house back? I know that you're supposed to play this game year round, but I want my big mansion already. I can't imagine how long it would take someone who only has around 15 minutes a day to play. I miss the money making island stuff.

I really miss stuff like the island as well. The house is expensive, but what I have been doing is trying to double my money for a few weeks on the turnip market. I bought 150,000 bell in turnips this week and can hopefully turn that into 300,000 when I sell them. Don't know if I will pay off my house then are just try to push it up to a million first. I think its easier to just be patient and bank this way in a few weeks. Doing it a few fish at a time takes forever and I want my house done so I can start designing different rooms.

Also by doing the money rock, fossils and shaking trees daily you can easily make 10,000 bell without fishing at all. Not to mention keep multiplying your fruit trees. I have a ton of fruit from other players and now can bank 30,000+ in a single day if all the fruit is out and I'm still planting more trees as well.

I use WhoGirl's DS to go back and forth. I sell my peaches in her town, fill up on pears and sell (and plant) them in my town. I get $7,500 per trip, and I can easily make four trips a day.

What price are you buying these turnips at? What price do you usually sell them at? I'm like you in that I don't really want to bother with furniture until I pay it off completely.

I won the fishing tournament yesterday with a 45.1 inch Sea Bass. I got a letter from the mayor that included a fishing trophy. I ended up getting three furniture items yesterday when the fish I turned in was bigger than the current record, the best one was a Nintendo bench.

I need to look through the guide and find some cool headgear/accessory items to get. I have the pirate hat/eyepatch, bunny hood, and my current attire a blue knit cap with snowflakes on it, and 3D glasses (red/blue).

I'm actually kinda glad it takes so long to pay off the house. Otherwise, I'd probably lose interest pretty quickly.

I miss the island only because I kinda miss the Kap'n. The non-indigenous fruit tree trick is definitely the way to go to make some quick cash. Doubles of fossils also help a lot, as do rare fish.

Missed the fishing tourney yesterday. Argh.

I think the KK Slider songs and all the different headgear will be the hardest for me to complete, since you can only get one a week for the songs and two a day (at most) for the headgear (unless you find one somewhere)

I lost the fishing tournament because my native fishing expert, Chow, that son of a bitch won with a 97.3 inch tuna. I'm not giving up a tuna, not that I could catch one that day, to win a damn trophy.

BTW, I found an interesting endless loop in the game that made me reset for the first time (Mr. Resetti was NOT happy with me, though he didn't break my legs... this time.)

Sometimes, a neighbor will ask to stop over at your place. If you agree, they'll ask what time they can come over... the time is restricted to the current day. They will not want to come over within 30 minutes of the current time. So at 11:35pm a few days ago, one of my neighbors wanted to come over, I said sure. It would allow me to pick a time only between 11:35 and 11:59. When I picked any of those times, he said it was too soon. But he wouldn't let me get out of it, he kept asking for me to pick another time (this is similar to that stupid insurance salesman, who will force you to buy insurance and won't let you leave the conversation). So I finally reset. Argh!

BTW, I hear the insurance only pays out 100 bells if you buy a forgery from Redds... is this true? Does that mean I will never recoup my money? (unless I get stung by bees 30 times in a week)

Has anyone managed to catch some bees before they sting? Someone who visited my town was running around swinging his net into trees and I tried that thinking I might catch them without chancing getting stung. No dice so far.

Also, Tom Nook is closed again today. Nothin' to do except wait for Redd. I think he's coming today. What's his name the Beaver was here this AM when I snuck in a quick romp on my 15 min. break at work.

Bad luck with the fishing tourney, spainlinx0. Someone visiting my town last night said that happened to him too! Freaking 100something inch tuna.

Man, I hate that Resetti guy. Sometimes you HAVE to reset, like in the scenario above. Fucking Nintendo. If I could find some cheat that allowed you to chop up Resetti with the axe, I would use it.

I've heard the best way to catch bees is to have someone else in your town to help you. The thing is, going into your inventory screen in this game doesn't pause the rest of the game, the bees just come close to you and wait for you to come out of the menu. If you select the net and get lucky, you can swing and catch them... otherwise, have someone else net them while they're waiting.

I could never catch the stupid bees in the first game anyway, so if anyone wants to try out this technique with me sometime later this week I'm willing to go for it.
