I'm on EST and I struck out this morning. I was the first one in Target when they opened, and hit Walmart before that.

My Wal-Mart looks like they are might be doing another relaunch situation like Best Buy. I was in yesterday and EVERYTHING 360 was gone. No games, no accessories, nothing. Like it hadn't been released. Only thing there was the kiosk. Surely they didn't sell every miniscule thing they had.

Checked a handful of stores, nobody had any.

Seeing a trend here Walmart did get some HDDs in though.

Damn that bogus info.

Hmmm ... I wondering if a "week of Christmas, unofficial relaunch" is a ploy to minimize scalpers a bit. It almost seems like they are being held so that there would not be a whole lot of time to run an auction and ship (unless overnight). I don't suppose that would keep a lot away, though.

I just returned from the local Target, Walmart, and Super Walmart. None of them received any shipments. I know the dept managers at the Super Walmart and Target and they said that they expect a shipment in 2 weeks. This is consistent with what they told me on launch day that they would only be receiving one shipment before Christmas.

Microsoft claims that they are shipping units out weekly. But I think that people assume that means that ALL stores will be receiving something each week. If MS is being truthful (I highly doubt it), then they are probably only shipping out to 30% of the stores each week.

I wonder is MS is shipping to the DCs that would mean we would have to wait on the regular weekly shipment from the DC to the store. Or maybe they shipped ground which would add more time to them actually arriving. Either way this sucks.

Face it, Microsoft flat out lied about a second shipment. I have been siked about getting a 360 since Launch Day and now I just don't care. If M$ doesn't care about satisfying their customers and feels the need to lie to them, then I say f*** Bill Gates. I have scoured the boards here, at CAG, fatwallet, and gamefaqs for any hope and even followed false rumors. I'm just furious that none have showed up this week. I hope M$ limited supply for increased demand plan bites them in the ass. Hooray PS3!

On the plus side, I pre-ordered a PS3 from FYE today. First in line.
I'm also #1 on FYE's list, thanks for the heads up.

Dude, it's just a fuckin' game that will be readily available sooner or later. Don't let yourself get all worked up over this. Trust me, I want one too but it's not that serious.

Peace my friend.

I was at target buying a few things and I decided just to stop by the XBox area. No systems and also no HDD, so I guess my brother is SOL for a while on finding the HDD.

It's obvious to me now that in order to get one anytime soon you'll have be:

1) Patient
2) Persistent
3) Lucky
4) Skillful
5) Rock Strongo

Good luck everyone.

My sad tale of woe: I have been calling the local Targets and Best Buys for the last few days. They've given me the same story about the 18th. Even Friday morning, I called Target to have them tell me end of December. I figured I'd call this morning for the heck of it since they have holiday hours and open at 8am. I called at 8:10. They had just sold 12 and had 1 left. I drove 10 minutes there to find the last one gone.
So long story short, I can confirm that some stores got 360's this weekend. And remember, don't trust anything employees are telling you.

I checked four stores this morning and came away with nada -- two Targets, Walmart, and Fry's Electronics. I think I'm done looking now. I may go looking for one on the 18th or whenever BB is supposed to be selling their stock, but I'll definitely nix that possibility if I hear of mass camping in front of stores and shit like that.

I'll keep checking around on the web for some to show up, but I'm really not that worried about it anymore. If I have to wait for Jan/Feb/Mar to get one, so be it.

WHat do stores have to gain from a relaunch? I mean they will sell the systems either way, so why have people lining up to buy them?

Is it just some sort of anti-scalping agenda, or more to do with advertising 360s in an ad and hope people buy other crap when they arrive and the store is cleaned out.

This is such a strange launch. I remember a week after Xbox came out walking into a store and grabbing one, no big deal. With Ebay fueling the market and inflating the cost, buying one now is like scoring a pound of coke.

I just don't get it. This can only hurt them in the long run.

I think that's why. They want to advertise it to get people in the store but can't because they know they won't have any. Is there some sort of rule that says you can advertise something if you don't have 20 of them instock?

The purpose is to create a hysteria over the product. It helps the stores and microsoft.
