So it seems tomorrow will be the big day for hopefully trying to get one. Where is everyone planning on calling? Here's a tip, don't call GameStop, they blow goats.
What is taking place tomorrow? Is there another shipment or something?

According to Microsoft, the second ship is supposed to arrive in stores before the weekend. One article said Friday specifically. I’m not getting my hopes up, however, and I’ll believe it when I see it.

Agreed...I really dont think many more of these will be around until after Christmas. I think they are just drumming up interest. I guess we will see.

I just don't get how all of them could just show up on one day? Wouldn't they start to tickle in at some point before most stores got them? Even if they were selling out quickly, wouldn't there be reports of a few stores here and there having had some? Theyr'e seemingly inexistent at this point.

If stores do get some tomorrow (and knew about it in advance) I’ll be glad they haven’t been telling everyone, because then there'd be an all night line and make it even more impossible.

I think they won't be easy to get until after christmas, but why would there not be many until after Christmas?

Well, also, most stores like BB, CC and so on, have certain days that they get shipments to the stores. So, if MS does ship them tomorrow, then you might not see them until next week. Im just guessing, but I really dont think tomorrow is gonna be much different. Online stores might be the best bet.

Because alot of the people who pre-ordered didnt even get theirs. So, alot of the xboxes that will be shipped will fill pre-orders.

I guess my point is that the demand will be high/ supply low until probably January.

Online would be the worst bet. Unless you are constantly plugged into the internet, they'll sell out immediately. MS has supposedly already shipped them out, again read this thread, inform yourself.

The only stores that take preorders are those crapholes known as GameStop/EBX/etc. They are a minority compared to the BB/Walmarts/Targets.

Demand will be high and supply will be low, but if you are vigilant there's no reason why you shouldn't get one this weekend if they do show up. In fact a bunch could show up and wipe out the Ebay Profiteers. Hopefully this is the case, I hope your auctions end soon.

i will swing by target and walmart in the am in between rounds. my fear is that some retailers may stockpile shipments in order to have a larger stock available closer to christmas.

Online is THE way to go if you have the time.

Well, I got mine from Dell and another from etoys....so online stores has been my success. I understand that its YMMV (depending on internet access as you say).

If someone wants one, get on the dell list. They will call you when they get them in (supposedly within 2-3 weeks). If you find one somewhere else, if they call, just tell them that you dont want it anymore.

Is a major recall worse than a regular recall?

No, I dont think there is a recall. There are some reports of problems with a small percentage and MS has set up a phone number to call.

Don't believe anything that these store employees tell you. They're just spreading bullshit so people will stop calling them about the 360.

According to this guy who works in marketing for Microsoft: http://www.johnporcaro.com/2005/11/keep_checking_b.html

Recall Rumors are 100% False: The nastiest RUMOR that’s making the rounds is that Microsoft is going to do some sort of a recall of the Xbox 360. Several forum threads I’ve seen are talking about folks going into retailers, only to be told that there will be no more units coming because of a Microsoft recall. NOT TRUE! If you're told this by a retailer, let me know.

Actually somewhere on the xbox.com forum Major Nelson made a post saying that you are supposed to contact him with the Store Location that told you that and someone from M$ would straighten them out.

LOL nice one Li I guess we were all over that one

While this is true, all these stores have trucks from their DC deliver on specific dates, other stuff like musiic, movies and games and especially the 360 are drop shipped from the mfr. MS should be shipping the 360s straight to the stores via UPS or Fed Ex, so tomorrow will be the day to check.

Xbox 360 explodes back onto US shop shelves
30 Nov 2005 1:02pm

Fresh shipments expected to land in US stores on Friday

Microsoft has come good on its promise to replenish Xbox 360 stocks as quickly as possible by announcing that US shop shelves will receive a second batch of consoles at the end of this week.

It’s great news for US gamers disappointed after the Xbox 360 launched across North America last week and promptly sold out quicker than you could say “high-definition”.

Speaking to USA Today, um, yesterday, Microsoft’s Molly O’Donnell said that replacement stock was, “on the way, and it should be on retailers' shelves by the end of the week or for the weekend." O’Donnell also emphasised Microsoft’s commitment to the “weekly replenishment strategy” that Microsoft executives have been bandying around since the first fears of an Xbox 360 stock shortage reared their heads back in September.

And high ranking Xbox 360 exec Peter Moore recently told us that he was doing everything possible to get more consoles on shelves, saying, “We've got two factories working 24 hours a day. We've got air freight running as well as boats, because you can get more units on boats. All we can do is make them as fast as we can and ship them as fast as we can."

The news comes as a relief both for Xbox 360-hunting North Americans and us Europeans, since we’re facing the console’s launch on this continent on Friday. The fact that Microsoft is – as promised – making sure consoles are landing on shelves week after week should prevent the kind of stock droughts that have afflicted other games systems like Sony’s PSP.

Not content with giving hope to legions of gamers desperate for an Xbox 360, O’Donnell then addressed some of the technical problems reported by owners of the console. "We are doing everything we can to take care of gamers who are having problems," she said, before pointing out that disgruntled owners were well under the 3 usually suffered by new electronic devices.

Keep it www.OXM.co.uk for more information on the European Xbox 360 launch direct from Peter Moore. Our full interview is coming later today.

Does anybody know roughly how long it takes a store to unpack the x-boxes and put them out for sale? Because then it may be better to go a little later in the day because I doubt they will have them ready for opening...at least the stores by me won't.

Oh and I just came back from my Target again and they still have no clue. I even told the girl that they may be getting some in soon and she said that it was news to her.

I generally see the employees unpacking boxes in the morning at the Target right next to my office. I'm hoping that the trend continues tomorrow morning around 8:00 or so with the 360.

Luckily, I work within walking distance of a Target so hopefully I'll be able to stop by there a few times before the day is over.
