I was not able to set up a playlist while I was streaming. The system said only for music on the hard drive.

And I can do that fully while streaming, yet with the iPod get the 100 song limit.

I finally got my 360 back yesterday. Sorta. They actually sent me a new one. Manufactured in Feb. Works for me.

My 360 won't be lonely anymore.

Moore dismisses backwards compatibility concerns
Tom Bramwell 10:46 01/06/2006
Larger hard drives for 360 on the way - but Xbox compatibility not a priority
Microsoft may consider releasing a larger Xbox 360 hard disk in future - but is unlikely to continue devoting significant resources to making Xbox games work on its next-gen format, according to comments made by the firm's games boss Peter Moore.
Speaking to UK website Kikizo at E3 last month, Moore said that "there's going to be a time when we need to look at what we're doing [with hard disks] - but no announcements now".
"We continue looking at the hard drive, we're looking at the behaviour of what people are doing with their hard drives," Moore had said. "Clearly when you have a million downloads you start looking at what you need to do."
Less promising was Moore's take on backwards compatibility - something Sony claims will be fully functional from the outset on PS3 and conversely something Moore believes doesn't really matter to Xbox 360, despite the furore last E3.
"Nobody is concerned anymore about backwards compatibility. We under promised and over delivered on that. It's a very complicated thing... very complex work. I'm just stunned that we have hundreds of games that are backwards compatible," he said.
That doesn't mean we won't get more backwards-compatible games - indeed, "more are coming" - but "at some point, you just go, there's enough, let's move on, or people aren't as worried about a game being backwards compatible - and I like to think we've upheld our end of the bargain in making at least two or maybe three hundred games backwards compat."
Microsoft came under fire at E3 in May 2005 for its doublespeak over the backward compatibility issue, with the firm declining to commit at the time to any details of how much of the Xbox catalogue would work on the new system - although company spokespeople at the time were adamant that its ultimate goal was to achieve full compatibility.
"Our goal is to have every Xbox game work on Xbox 360," Xbox PR manager Michael Wolf told GamesIndustry.biz at the time - a goal from which Microsoft now appears to have retreated significantly.

Oh, give me a break, Peter! I've been leaning toward a 360 recently, but I checked the BC list and saw 9 of my 18 Xbox games aren't supported. Knowing that MS doesn't even manufacture the Xbox anymore, it means that I'm officially SOL on this once it breaks. I won't pay for an outdated/unsupported system.
I have Lego Star Wars on the Xbox. Looks like I'm going Gamecube with the sequel.
Suck it, Moore.

Yes i'm particularly puzzled by him descriing it as under promising and overdelivering... When i got my 360 only 1 of my 12 games was BC. I got rid of them all and of those i got rid of none are BC yet. Games i would love to go back and pick up that i missed originally like Psychonauts and Beyond Good and Evil are still not BC. Yes i adore by 360 but i would have rathered them just say only Halo and Splinter Cell will be BC and have left it at that than promise complete and then just stop talking about it.

But as it is, the XBox 360 is selling nicely, so they don't feel there is a need to deliver on their initial promise.
When you think of it, it really is all of our faults for waiting in line for 10 hours to buy this thing on opening day (well I didn't
) and then for the 5 months of shortages. They know they have a hot selling console and don't need to cater to us anymore regarding BC.Chris

Now i'm not crying over not being able to play Midway Arcade Treasures 1-3 on my 360 even though it bums me out that i can't but i also can't keep totally silent on the issue when i see an article where Moore is claiming to over-deliver.

I have to add that I don't want a dozen systems hooked up to the tv at once. Not to mention getting $200 for my used Xbox to put towards a 360 was nice as well.

Or maybe just one cable for everything, like HDMI.

Wii will supercede my GC and N64 so I'll drop from 4 to 3 attached all while going from 5 consoles supported to 10
Here's a pop quiz, hot shot. Which of these is not like the others?
Wii - Wii, GC, N64, SNES, NES, Genesis, TGX-16
PS3 - PS3, PS2, PS1
360 - 360, Xb...

I think he is getting more at the backwards compatibility features and the ability to ditch older consoles in the process.

What about those of us who never owned an original X-Box? The X-Box library never appealed to me enough to warrant a purchase, but when the 360 was announced with BC, that was actually a factor in me picking one up. I figured I could pick up the few system-exclusive games that appealed to me (the Halo series, Fable, Jet Set Radio, KOTOR, Ninja Gaiden, etc.) Thankfully most of those are BC, but I'm a huge JSR fan, and they haven't gotten that one working yet. Riddick is another one I'd like to have, along with Panzer Dragoon Orta.
Really, all Peter Moore had to say was that they're still working on it. MS could keep dragging it out, throwing us a couple of titles every 6 months, and people would probably be okay with that. I'm not saying they'd be happy about it, but the status quo would be maintained. But to say that they "under-promised and over-delivered" and that nobody really cares about BC is mind-boggling from a PR perspective. It's really quite aggravating that they're going back on their word and shitting on their existing customer base like that.

"Most consumers still care about backwards compatibility, but my team and I do not. We over promised and under delivered on that. It's a very complicated thing... very complex work. I'm just stunned that we have hundreds of games that are backwards compatible, but hopefully the consumers won't notice that a lot of those games are complete crap nobody cares about like 'Yourself Fitness' and that fucking Barbie game," he said.
Fixed.

This also means I can finish the ones I haven't finished. BC is a pretty important factor to me.

It is sad that they arent going for a 100% BC list. Its just another unfilled empty promise from a company who is now settled in and feels they dont have to do much more. They should just hire a team of 2-3 nerds/programmers and have them hammer away at the BC for a couple months till its 100%. I mean, most of the difficult stuff IS done since they have a lot of games functioning already. What will be funny is if once the 360 is hacked, the hackers write emulators for unemulated games to function on the system.

What is Entourage btw? I downloaded the stuff but have never heard of the show.
Also, there is a new Artist of the Month video up. So i guess Natasha Bedingfield was only Artist of the Month for what? 5 months?
