I TRIED the BF Demo but couldn't connect. Server Full messages the entire time.
I'll try again tonight.

Just keep hitting A,B,A which is (Continue), (Back), then select (play demo) from the main menu again. Took me about 3-4 tries each time to connect and play. Once on the server I had no problems playing the game, seems you can only play 2 sessions then your kicked from that room.

Ran into dgc (Wetwork) on one of the servers last night. For a tatical type game though there was no one talking at all, when I played the demo for the original Xbox you couldn't get people to shut up.

I was really impressed with the BF demo. I've never played a game in the series before but was very entertained by this one. It's moved up to a must-buy for me now.

Maybe it was just because I'd been playing Rumble Roses before that, and anything seems better than that mediocre title. What a disappointment.

I didn't like the BF demo, I'll be sticking to GRAW. Well, when I finish Oblivion anyways.

The GRAW demo is out now as well for those who have not bought the game yet.

Yeah, saw a few dvdtalkers last night including Edison and golucky.

As for chopper controls, I believe the full version will have an easy control option.

I'm guessing we won't be able to set up private rooms since we are on EA servers. Although Burnout allows for private rooms...

I'm definitely getting it.

Is that BF demo online-only? I was a little surprised when it started signing me on, and I turned it off, because I only had 5 minutes to play and I didn't want to tick off a group of people online. And today I got email from EA saying thanks for signing on to their servers...

As an aside, if you haven't picked up the excellent Oblivion or GRAW yet, there's an unadvertised sale at Fry's (at least in Burbank)... the shelftags say 49.99. And, of course, the budget-priced Dynasty Warriors V Empires is 29.99, though I'm not sure I'll pick that up, even though I love the series.

Yes, online multiplayer only. Same as what was done for the original xbox demo except a different map (A Bridge Too Far).

Ugh that Battlefield demo wasn't my kind of game at all. I much prefer GRAW. For a team oriented game, Battlefield was way to hectic and fast paced.

Understood, it can get pretty hectic as the gameplay is much different then GRAW.

I had a great BF2:MC moment last night.

I was a U.S. sniper laying down in front of the crack on the road to flag 3 picking off engineers as they were fortifying 3 with land mines. Apparently they got tired of me killing them so rather than respawn at 3 they spawn at their base to grab a vehicle. Seconds later, I see in my scope, two jeeps coming up the road at full speed directly towards me. I go prone again in the middle of the road and take aim. I take a shot and nail the driver while the gunner continues to fire at me. It appears the jeep continues to drift right over one of their own land mines,…. BOOOOOMMMM!!! The 2nd jeep continues to race towards me and he is getting too close for comfort. I steady myself again. Just as he gets close enough for me to see him in the driver's seat I kill him and see his body slump over before he could run me over. The jeep continues to roll right up to me and comes to a complete stop. I check my GPS, and flag 3 is clear of enemies. Moments later, a teammate rolls past me in a Tank and captures 3.

It was so hollywood, like a scene out of some Jerry Bruckheimer popcorn flick. It's moments like this that really make this game so enjoyable.

Microsoft to relaunch Xbox 360 in Japan in June - report

Rob Fahey 16:34 31/03/2006

Next-gen console to be given a fresh start in its toughest market, claim wholesalers

The Xbox 360 is to be relaunched in Japan in late June in response to weak sales of the console, according to a report today which cites sources at Japanese wholesalers and indicates that an announcement of the relaunch could come next week.

The report, which was published by German website GameFront, suggests that a press conference being held next week by Microsoft in Japan will be the venue for the announcement of this major change in strategy for the firm.

June 29th is fingered as the date of the relaunch, which coincides with the changed release date for a number of major titles - Sega's Chrome Hounds, Idea Factory's Spectral Force 3: Innocent Rage, AQ Interactive's Bullet Witch, and Ubisoft's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter.

It's not yet clear what form the relaunch might take - whether it will see the console's pricing or bundles being changed, or if it will simply be a new marketing campaign focused on the locally relevant software available for the system.

Japan was the only territory where the Xbox 360 did not sell out at launch, despite having a smaller allocation than any other market, and in fact the launch underperformed by comparison with the launch of the original Xbox - itself hardly a stellar success story in the region.

The console is currently selling somewhere over a thousand units per week - around the same kind of volumes as are being shifted by the GameCube.

As well as the four titles mentioned above, Microsoft will also be hoping to stimulate interest in the console with the imminent releases of Rumble Roses and Ninety-Nine Nights, both of which are due to arrive in the next month.

Not exactly. Some stores had some kind of major discount when you bought a phone contract or something. I don't recall the exact price though.

Genius Microsoft.
I would have bought that on the launch date (when it was supposed to be available).
So I went and bought a 2nd rechargeable battery pack.

Now, if I want that fast recharger, I have to buy another rechargeable battery.

Thanks!

the thing is man they crapped down the xbox versions of BF2 when the 360 could do the same as what is for the computer. really sad. still cool though but i like graw better in this area.

Am I the only one who uses the Play-n-Charge kits? At $20 a pop it seemed much easier to have those than to deal with getting batteries or worrying about anything.

Nope, that was the first thing I picked up when I got my system.

I use 30 minute rechargables. I have 8. 4 are always charged and ready to go. No messing with controller wires. And they work with my Wavebird and Logitech wireless controllers as well. I bet your play and charge kit can't do that!
