Anyone know why i can't use Khaos or Cosmos? When you hit esc, it doesn't show up in that window. Plus tloc doesn't work among other things.

I've run cosmos in alpha nad release, and it doesn't make a difference.

Any ideas?

Fucking Blizzard! I just got my new video card installed this past weekend and spent about 3hrs setting up my UI and then they release 1.8 which fucked everything up again.

I have not been able to get the tloc function to work sence the 1.7 update. Auctioneer, tloc, itemcompair, cronos and cosmos all seem to be jacked up.

I'm tired of tweaking mods to the point of getting everything just right and then BAM! I'm hosed. After the patch I couldn't read email. For now, I'm back to vanilla but I guess I'll spend another hour or two trying to figure out which mods work and which ones don't.

After 1.7, I disabled all my mods but a few and never bothered to update the old ones. I feel your pain, Setzer.

By the time I get back to playing they might be on patch 2. something.

Got my first epic drop tonight. My lvl 47 mage now wears Robes of Insight. Ugly looking things, plus the 500 mana discount is probably better suited to a priest, but I'm happy overall. Plus I won it fairly. I've yet to have a serious problem with looting rules. I was very impressed that the group let only the mage and priest roll for it. Perhaps things would have been different if it had been worth more than 75 gold.

Since I'll likely keep this till 60, can anyone suggest a good chest enchantment for a mage, and how much it should cost.

Here are some quotes from Caydiem (PR person on the WOW boards).

“We're going to be showcasing the starting area of a race. We won't be revealing all our secrets.
Then when someone asked if that could mean just giving trolls, gnomes, or making goblins playable they said:

“Do you honestly believe we'd be showing off Gnomes, Trolls, or any other existing content as a shiny new feature for the expansion? I'd suggest giving us a little more credit. :P”
Let the speculation begin, for what the new race(s) will be. I am just hoping for Pandarans(sp?)! I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they added enough races for another faction, however I don't know how that would play into the Battleground stuff.

Now we just need to wait for Blizzcon in the next couple of weeks to get a glimpse at the expansion.

You're on a pvp server? If so, just slap a +100 HP enchant on it. If not, you can use any other one..

Got my Tauren Druid to level 20 and got Cat Form. its pretty cool; fast attacking and good damage. Once question: is the DoT the only "finishing move" you ever get?

I just got my undead mage up to level 24 (the highest level I've gotten any of my chars to!) I'm just having more fun playing as a horde guy, killing all those vile stinky humans. I just wish I wouldn't have picked a low population server. It's pretty difficult to find anyone to go into the dungeons with.

OK, so I finally gave up and installed WoW, and I started playing. I'm not sure I'm addicted yet- I really haven't even played with other people, just solo. Maybe someday my friends will join up...

OK, now for the stupid noob question:

How do you increase armor proficiencies? I have a backpack full of armor, gloves, etc. I can't use. I'm still at cloth proficiency, and have no clue how to get higher. I don't see any obvious thing like in Diablo where once you reach a certain level you increase ability. Am I missing something?

fuzzbox, what class are you? That determines what kind of armor you can where.

Human Mage. Level 7, I think.

I can wear any stuff marked "cloth", but I have a bunch of stuff marked "leather" and "mail" that I can't use. I'd assume as I level up I'll get the ability, but I see no indicator of how much longer, what the order is, etc... The blizzard boards are of no use. I did a search of all forums for the word "armor" and it said "no results". I cn hardly believe that's the case...

Fuzz,

As a mage you will only be able to wear cloth. You will become much more powerful as you progress.

Really? I'll never be able to wear anything better than cloth? I can empty out my backpack now :-)

But I assume the drops will reveal better and better cloth I can use, right?

Somewhat, but as someone told me, don't really worry about the armor rating of your cloth armor. Look for stuff with +'s to intellect and other skills. Always use your ice shield, and if you're using herbalism and alchemy, you can make potions that give you +armor.

Also, check the auction house. You will find lots of good cloth armor there, and it's generally pretty cheap.

well, I'm still learning. I don't have any clue about the auction house. Guess that's another area to explore.

If you're a human, the auction house is in Ironforge. You can get there via the free tram ride from stormwind. That was one thing I hated about about playing an alliance character... Ironforge is always packed with people, and when I got there, I had a 50/50 chance of getting booted.
