Thanks to "ofacto" at CheapAssGamer for the heads-up on this one. Of course I found this the day after I ordered a 1GB SanDisk Memory Stick for $70, and it already shipped. I may order one of these anyway. $40 is a really good deal on 1 GB stick.
Wouldn't you know it.. I spent all week looking for a deal on a 1GB card and ended up buying one for $52 on eCost the other night. Oh well, at least I managed to pick up Hot Shots Golf with it for $19.99.

Thanks, worked great. My PC is a bit ancient (1.6ghz P4) so it took over 2 hours for PSP Video 9 to encode a single movie to mp4. I was also surprised that even with 1GB available, I had to encode the movie at 768kpbs (rather than 1500kpbs), since at 1 hour 30 minutes, the movie was nearly 800MB already.

I also picked up a UMD case this week that holds 8 UMDs in flip folders contained in a hard case that is shaped like a PSP case. Nice and compact, although I realize that I own 9 games and over 12 movies, so I'll need to pick up another one.

I got one of those UMD cases for christmas. It's the best case I've seen. Too bad it only holds 8 discs. I'll get another one as well.

I just re-bought a PSP again...Some decent games have come out since I last sold mine! I now own a PSP 1.5, 3 Movies, and about 13 games (All were super cheap). I'm really enjoying Infected and Dead to Rights!

Looking over at EB Games, I noticed that a bunch of great games are coming out soon. I also noticed that GT:Mobile is back on the list for April. Looks like a great start to the year.

Also hear that for version 2.5 users, homebrew and emu's are pretty dang close.

There is an exploit in GTA:LCS and somebody created a Tetris game to play

I've been messing around with PSP Video 9 the last couple days. I re-encoded the first movie, this time with AVC instead of SP, and shrunk the 1 hour 30 minute movie from 767MB to 580MB. I ran them side-by-side to see if I could tell any encoding difference, and any differences were subtle. It seemed that AVC had less digital breakup, but perhaps SP was a tiny bit sharper.

Anybody know how to add chapter stops in PSP Video 9? I'm starting with my concert DVDs and would definitely like the ability to skip to the next song.

I'm a poker newbie so my opinion may not mean as much to those who know more about the game, but I bought this a few days ago and it's pretty good so far. Note that this isn't the very poorly reviewed 'World Series of Poker'. This one got a 7.5 from Gamespot.
I got this too and it is a pretty good Poker game except:
-There is a really stupid and incredibly difficult bluffing game that automatically kicks in whenever the computer thinks you've over or underbet.
-The load times are just insane.
-You can't skip the intro animations.
Otherwise pretty fun.

For some reason, I haven't had to do the bluffing game lately. Maybe it's only used in Texas Hold 'Em? I haven't seen it since I've been playing 5 card draw and 7 card stud lately. Maybe I'm just such a poker novice and don't realize that it doesn't make sense to use the bluffing game in those game types.

The load times are horrible. The constantly repeating sayings that you have to listen to after each hand are bothering me even more though. If I hear "I played you guys like a fiddle" one more time I'm going to explode.

Tales of Eternia is being released in Europe February 10th, awesome action RPG ported from the PS1. This might be a good import for people looking for something other than gun and car games on their PSP. I don't think it's coming out to the US.. though with Tales of Legendia coming in February and Tales of Phantasia coming in March, Namco would be dumb not to cash in on an already translated title.

I wanted to pick up both Tales of Eternia and Breath of Fire 3 from Europe when they were released. Where is the best place to import them from? Amazon UK won't ship games to the US.

I have no idea at the moment. Breath of Fire III isn't coming out here? That's odd. eBay might be a good place to look after they're out.. if I find out a dealer that'll ship to the US I'll post it here. Amazon listed Eternia at 30 pounds!! That's like $60. Christ.

Finally got those drivers to work and I am up and running. However, I cannot figure out how to transfer video files to my psp.

Can somebody provide step by step tutorials or provide me with a link. It's time consuming looking through all these posts.

The videos have to be in the directory "X:\MP_ROOT\100MNV01". X is whatever drive letter the PSP is assigned when you connect it to your pc. They have to be named M4Vxxxxx.MP4 where the x's are any series of numbers in order for the PSP to recognize it as a video file.

Cool, thanks. I was going to check Lik-Sang, but for some reason I can't get to their site from work. If I remember correctly, they had a section for European PSP games. I haven't seen a release date for BoF III for the US yet. I was originally going to wait for both, but I want another RPG for my PSP.

Hmm... When you renamed the file, did you use 5 numbers in places of the x's or did you just rename it with a single number? So the filename would be "M4V00001.MP4" and not "M4V1.MP4".

When I did it, I used converted video from my ReplayTV. I'm assuming you used PSPVideo9 for the conversion, so it should be in the right format.
