One thing I read in last months OXM is that the 360 will be using watercooling. That is pretty interesting, although I am worried that it could lead to many more problems than if it was fan cooled.

Not sure I believe that as it would be quite expensive. Also other articles have referred to the 360 being able to turn fans off when running in dvd playback mode so it runs quieter.

Yeah, I think I remember reading something at IGN saying it has 3 fans, and when watching a dvd it only uses one fan.

I wonder if it maybe has both water and fan cooling systems? The only reason I think it could be true is that I have also heard it was water cooled from an 'inside' source.

I heard the 360 is powered by human souls. If you want it to work you have to sacrifice humans and feed the 360 their souls. The $300 version also transforms into an anally raping robot at night, I'm pretty sure that's why people are so pissed about that one. On the other hand the $400 version bangs your wife while you are at work, so people aren't happy about that one either.

Fuckin' Micro$oft always trying to screw us. Literally.

Are either of these bundles a good value?

They are if you want the games and extra controllers that they come with. You're not really saving any money by going with the bundle. It's just the price of everything added up. I wouldn't waste you time with the core system though. Spend the extra money to get the pack with the hard drive. Personally I think Gamestop has better bundles than EBGames.

^ Thanks. I'm having a difficult time choosing between the Silver and the Gold bundle at Gamestop, if that's what I decide to go with.

Anyone know anymore about "limited backward compatability"?

Most "popular" games will be compatible with the 360 with a hard drive. The core system is not backward compatible at all unless you buy the hard drive.

The current rumour is that newer xbox releases (this year onwards) will have been built with additional 360 compatibility code and therefore will run on either the core or premium system without requiring the harddrive.

Interesting.
I didn't realize this was rumored at, but still seems like a good idea if true.

I can see them doing that....however, once I get a 360 I'm not going to buy any XBOX titles. So, a lot of this does not matter to me.

I see that the bunny now has a buddy and there is more fruit on the tree. While I do keep tabs on this site I'm amazed at how many theories have popped up from this one simple page.

Yeah, it's not worth keeping track of. It sounds like mostly little kids who have no concept of reality.

Apparently Perfect Dark Zero is no longer a launch title.

I can't say I am surprised given Rare's track record, but I don't really care anyway as I had no interest in it.

That was inevitable, really. It wouldn't surprise me if Kameo got delayed either.

The PDZ news is fine with me. They are pretty much saying that Call of Duty and Ghost Recon may be the killer FPS aps at launch. PDZ did look nice, but I'll wait a year for Halo3

The only advantage PDZ had was that it was an Xbox360 exclusive title. Both Ghost Recon and Call of Duty will be already out or coming out for the PC once the Xbox360 launch.

Being that the large majority of the Xbox360 launch titles are just PC ports is not looking too appealing to me. I personally can't stand playing a FPS on a console. The only PC port I am interested in is Oblivion due to the fact that it will look better on the Xbox360 unless you have a top of the line computer (read: Nvidia 7800/ATI X1800, Dual Core CPU etc).

Well, I'm the opposite...I'm NOT a PC gamer....I love my console FPS. I just cannot use a mouse/keyboard

Consider the source, though; The Inquirer's about as unreliable a resource as they come. Microsoft's been cagey about what'll be available on launch day and what won't, so I'm doubtful that they announced "hey, we won't tell you when the console is coming out, but I can tell you PDZ won't be there!" It's possible that PDZ might miss launch, but from everything I've read, the content's been done for a while...it's down to just optimizing and spiffing up. I feel pretty good about PDZ making it. People seem to be more skeptical about Kameo.

They also said by X-Mas, so if it's a month, that would not be horrible....anyways, all rumors. I'm just glad I have mine pre-ordered

True, however, the Inquirer is correct at least 50% of the time. I am also wondering where the hell "Microsoft announced" that it was delayed from launch, since I haven't seen any other sites mention it yet. I honestly don't mind too much which games are delayed, especially if they are games I am interested in. I would much rather they spend the extra time polishing and fixing bugs then releasing a rushed pile of crap.

Just preordered mine as well! Premium of course.

Though questioning my motives for buying this thing. Seems like I'm buying it more for eyecandy / show than the actual gaming aspect. Anybody else feel the same way?

With few exceptions, the only reason to buy the new systems at launch is for eyecandy/show/having the cool new technology. Even when the launch games are great (like the Dreamcast or PSP), I'm sure the new technology is still the overriding reason why people are excited.

Personally, I'm still on the fence. I think if I can walk in to a store and pick one up, then I'll get one. But I'm not going to preorder, and I don't think I'll be too disappointed if I end up not getting one at launch this time...
