I haven't seen this covered in any of the DS reports: Since it's going to play gameboy games, can we assume it will include a Gameboy link port so it can link up the a GBA? I know it has the 802.11b, but no mention of a link port.

After years of playing right handed I think it's easier to stick with it for now. It's a right handed world, not even Ned Flanders can change that...

Anyone have a picture of the DS being used with the sylus? I still don't see how you are supposed to hold this thing with two hands and use a stylus on the touch screen. Doesn't sound like you can play it while standing up. Seems like you'd have to have it laying against something or the system would wobble around while you were using the stylus on the screen.

I would think that anything requiring the stylus would only use the stylus for control, thus you could just hold the DS in one hand and the stylus in the other, just like you would with a PDA.

I thought for Metroid DS they said you had to use the d-pad and the stylus to get control the game?

Check out http://www.e3insider.com/index.htm. Click on E3now at the top and scroll down on the FanCam. There is a video, called "FanCam gets his hands on the Nintendo DS". He uses the stylus for a couple of games.

Thanks for the link! I'm very impressed with the 3D capabilities of the Nintendo DS. Both of the Sonic and Metroid demos looked amazing!

Are there any video of Pac-Roller or Pac-Pix; I really want to see them in action!

From the videos you see what I mean? If you didn't have the DS in your lap or against a table or wall you would keep tilting it whenever you pressed the stylus on the screen. You need something behind it to provide some resistance. Anyway, just an oberservation. Looks like a good way to simulate a mouse but I think I prefer the analog stick on the PSP. Seems easier to use and hold. That being said, looking around in metroid using the stylus looked pretty cool too.

I was reading an article on another site and they were saying Nintendo may be in short supply of DS's when they launch because of the two-screens (manufacturers may not have time to produce enough). Maybe hype but I went ahead and pre-ordered one from EB anyway.

I hope the price goes down to $149 or November may go down as the most expensive month in gaming history. Metroid Prime 2, Resident Evil 4, Viewtiful Joe 2, Halo 2, the DS. Can't wait.

Good...I hope only pe-orders get one of these. I hate the people that come in on launch day and ask for one of these. Like with the SP, said "Sorry, Pre-orders only. Good Luck finding one in the next 2 weeks"

Right, because Best Buy, Circuit City, Target, Wal-Mart, Fry's, etc won't carry them.

Pre-orders only.

I preordered my original GBA at Target. When I went to pick it up, people were trying to buy the GBA on launch day (without a preorder) and were told that the GBA were all sold out because the first shipment went to those who preordered.

Maybe I just got lucky. I got one at Target release week (sold out of Silver, so I got Blue). I remember seeing them at Fry's as well that week. I'm only laughing because my first stop was GameStop and the guy (typical GameStop/GameStore behavior) essentially belittled me for not having one on preorder. He said "You can preorder one now, we get another shipment in 2 weeks; otherwise don't count on finding one for at least a month!" I went to Target in the EXACT same shopping center and they had a decent stock left.

I really ****ing hate that pre-order crap. If I even go into a GameStop I don't even talk to the people there anymore because they'll try to get me to pre-order SOMETHING. I actually pre-paid for Metroid Zero Mission at GameStop in exchange for one of the displays. On release day, the game was MSRP $5 lower than they charged me, and I had to spend nearly 20 minutes of BSing with them trying to get me to pre-order something before they'd relinquish the difference. Even this Saturday, I thought Metal Slug 3 was out, so I go on over, ask if it's out and OF COURSE (why didn't I see this coming?!) "It comes out on the 26th? Do you want to pre-order it? Well if you want a copy you'll have to pre-order it because we're only getting enough to fill the pre-orders!" I told him to tell his manager that if that was the case, Fry's would be getting my business.

Yep. I was just speculating. That's total lame design IMO. The whole thing looks pointless to me.

I didn't realize how many things are coming out in November; it does look to be pretty expensive. Hopefully TRU has their buy 2 games get 1 free around that time.

The worst part of it coming out in November is I'll likely have to buy them for the kids as well for Christmas. At $200/per it's going to be pricy to by 3 or 4 of these. Hopefully $149 will be the street price, fingers crossed.

November should be safe for me. Prime 2 is the only must buy for me. I really like the DS, but I don't think it has anything that makes me want it at release.. this could change of course. I held off on the original GBA until I lost my GBC.

Now, alot of those stores take pre-orders (Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy). Again, good luck. I know I had custmers for 3 weeks asking me when we would get more in since are local Target, Wal-Mart, K-mart, and Best Buy were sold out on launch day.

I'm always amazed so many people are obsessed with getting things at launch. Especially with the weak launch line ups we've had in recent years.
