That's ridiculous. There's no way the market is going to support 4 handhelds (GBA, DS, PSP, and this sega thing).

And its likely that the Sega one will be the first to fail given their track record with hardware. Do they just want to go bankrupt or something?

What the hell is wrong with Sega!!! Portable overload!!!

The DS looks nice and small...kinda like that. It looks pocket size.

I'm still sticking with PSP, not because i'm a fanboy (don't own PS2)...it just offers more of what I like.

If Sega is entering the handheld market, does that mean that Sega is going the way of Nintendo?

I just left it out as it's an utter failure already.

Guys,

That post is a fake...already been discredited elsewhere. The post was up yesterday, before Sega even held their conference.

That is the analog stick. The speaker holes, both of them, are there as well. there is a small oval opening to the upper left of the Home key and upper right of the Start key.
Maybe its an analog stick that pops up when you press it? I know, I know its a long shot.

Got back from day 1. Wow. Lots of stuff. Best swag to me is the Linage II coke cans. it has an elf character on the side. perhaps it's just close to my heart because during the korean beta I had an elf character like that.

Alrite...went, and saw...

DS - Simply amazing. I went into the "hall" twice, and both times didn't win.By didn't win, I mean I didn't get to play Metroid or Mario. Instead, I got to play WarioWare, Pac-Pix, and a Pokemon game. I simply love this system. Its much smaller then you would think. This will be the device I buy first.

PSP - Saw, and liked it more then I thought I would. The screen is long (think Widescreen TVs). No games were playble except a small RPG. I watched some demos of a golf game, and Ape Escape. Yes, that little 'dimple' is a analog control. I didn't beleive it till I actually used it. Overall, if the price is right ($200) I will get it on launch. Also, whats with the movies? They had Charlies Angels 2 and Underworld. Why would any buy a movie for a PSP? You would only ever be able to watch it on the PSP, and do thoe movies have that much replay value?

N-Gage - I feel really bad for Nokia. As someone who owns one, I was really dissapointed with it this year. After seeing DS, the PSP, and THEN N-gage, you can really tell how this system looks like crap compared to the two. Ashen seemed fun, but other then that, nothing realy interested me. Oh well.

Thanks for the impressions Gizmo! The DS sounds great I can't wait for it!

Oh and it kind of sucks that the PSP only had one playable game. What was Sony thinking?

Maybe Sony had more..but from the 8 or so PSPs on display, on the RPG-like game was playable. Everything else there was just a simple button press to start a movie. I'll dig deeper tomorrow.

With what little they have shown, it really looks like they never had any intentions of releasing it this christmas. The DS looks almost complete. Guess time will tell.

yes, that they do. I recieved more shirts this year in one day then all three days of last year. Sure I had to really work for one of them. But so far the swag is plentiful. Business cards help. remember that folks.

I'm not much of a hand held person so neither really wowed me. though Nintendo's area was much nicer than playstations.

as for the phantom. It's still vaporware. their booth sucked. it sucked so bad that they had fake food to offer. What I thought was a cracker for the folks who walk in there ended up to my surprise being a stryophome replica of what is a cracker. Could they not even spend the few bucks to place REAL food products there?

Phantom? I checked that booth out.... And left right away. What the hell was that suppose to be? Jack, what shirts did ya get? I managed to only get a G4 shirt, a namco shirt, and a couple DS ones. I'll need to bring some business cards I suppose.

The west hall is pretty much the same lay out it's been last year. sony gets the middle section with two floors and nintendo's major difference is that it's not box in itself like it was last year.

As for swag. I have to wonder where some of you are going or what some of you are expecting.
