Yeah, it does work, I've seen people lift vehicles that way.
I do agree in there not seeming to be much point though.

Well, I'll keep an eye out for you. I'm tending to stick to the official servers for now.I'm a CTF man myself and I play on whatever server i ping best to at the time.

EB has the DVD SE version back up and showing it as a pre-order for 04/20/04 UT 2004 SE DVD

There's some debate on the official forums as to whether that EBGames version is the full SE, or just a 1-disc DVD with game only.

Corrected my typo. Hopefully the EBGames version is the real deal for those interested in the SE. I think people are wary because there's been nothing official from Atari.

That actually came in handy tonite. On the Icarus onslaught map, the leviathan is isolated off to the side. We used a raptor and carried to the larger side of the map. Originally posted by BizRodian

I'm gonna go try it!

I parked the raptor on the left side of the leviathan, the guy in the leviathan deployed it so a part of the leviathan was on top of the raptor. Then I took off and carried it

I think that's all people want anyhow. The headset was a little bit of a letdown, since you had to plug it into the conventional speaker/mic outputs on your sound card. I think most people were expecting a USB headset, so they didn't have to disconnect their speakers and/or come up with some other method just to use them with UT.Originally posted by Groucho

The 1 DVD and the tutorials are what made me go for the SE, I don't even use my headset. I have an older headset from Labtec which is mic only, so I can still use the speakers. The headset included in SE is just sitting in the box (albeit that nice shiny metal SE box...

For all the Best Buy pre-order people, I received my SE 2-DVD UT2004 yesterday. So, it seems that they're sending the right versions! It's totally worth getting this just for the tutorial disc! Factor in the $10 rebate...(And to think I spent $50 apiece for Maya/3DSMax books!)

ATARI TO LAUNCH UNREAL TOURNAMENT 2004 DVD VERSION IN RESPONSE TO OVERWHELMING DEMAND
Highest-Rated PC Game of 2004 Re-Released in Special Two-DVD Set; Includes 3DBuzz.com Training Videos For Making Custom Maps and Mods
LOS ANGELES – April 9, 2004 – In response to the overwhelming success of Unreal® Tournament 2004 - Special Edition which featured the game on DVD, Atari and Epic Games will launch a special two-disc “DVD Edition” of Unreal Tournament 2004 on April 13. The two-DVD set will include the entire game on disc one, while disc two will include several hours of Video Training Modules (VTMs) from 3DBuzz.com that teach fans and amateur mod makers how to use the Unreal Editor to create custom game content.
Unreal Tournament 2004 is the highly anticipated follow-up to last year’s Unreal Tournament 2003 and the third installment in the mega-selling Unreal Tournament franchise. The game has received universal critical acclaim and was hailed by GameSpot, a leading video game news and reviews site, as “..the new king of online shooters.” Unreal Tournament 2004 is already the highest-rated PC game of 2004 and, according to GameRankings.com, a Web site which tracks reviews of all games, Unreal Tournament 2004 is the third-highest scoring PC game of all time. The Special Edition DVD SKU sold out at major retailers across the United States in the first three days of availability.

nice. it only makes sense.
to refer back to my earlier post, why are PC games "collectible" or "limited" anyway? never saw any of them go for more on ebay and looks like UT2004 won't either (beyond what has been a lucrative ebay market currently for some people).
