Saying "Everyone, attack" works as well. You can also stack multiple callsigns into one command. I haven't discovered any other commands than the ones listed in the manual, though.

There was a post on the official forums from an Atari guy. He said they wanted more, but they were limited to only 60,000 headsets, which capped the number of games to the same number.

It's not very useful, but you can order your teammates to "Taunt."

Just go to UT2004/Speech and there are the config files for the speech commands for each game type. It's written in code, but you can tell what the commands are. You can tell them to getout of vehicals in onslaught which is good when they steal your ride. "Dance" is also a command, but I don't see it in the config files, so maybe there are more hidden ones.

Edit: Doh, nevermind. Dance is in there. Just listed as a type of taught.

I cant get the head set to work right... I got one command in the first time I played with the headset and after that it wont work no matter how hard I try. I got Delta to cover me one time and that was the last command they would take from me. I always seem to end up with the team who doesnt want to follow my orders, wankers!

Does anyone have any ideas what is wrong? I just cant get the bots to listen to me or at least hear me.

To anyone who got the standard version from EBgames.com when they thought they ordered the special edition. What did you do? I called up once and they told me that noone could have possibly changed the order, and will not give me a prepaid shipping label. I'm going to call back again and speak to a manager.

Well apparently the first guy was just an ass. I called back asked to speak to a manager, the guy who answered asked if he could help me. I re-explained the situation, of how I was so sure I did not make a mistake in placing this order.

I was further backed up by the fact that my packing slip for UT said 3/12 and from my experience and from the other game in that order, the packing slips are dated on the day of the order. 3/12 was an arbitrary day between the date the order was made, 3/10, and the date it was shipped out, 3/15, leading me to conclude that someone did indeed change my order. A prepaid shipping label is on it's way.

Just to let you guys know, Epic has already released an extra Onslaught map. It's called 'Ikarus' and you can download it while you're in the game.

Have you trained your microphone to recognize your voice?

I don't know if the game ships with speech recognition software or not...it didn't seem to install anything. I use Microsoft's software, which is free, and works fine:

What it actually does is take you to a link where you can download the map. It might be easier to just download it outside the game.

heh, one more suggestion from a friend of mine... just plug the mic in and not the headset... that way, you can use the mic and your regular speakers and leave it plugged in.

it's actually good for me b/c i like having the mic on the right side (like my xbox live headset). i wear the thing around my neck.

Update on Bestbuy.com: I just recieved email confirmation that my pre-order for the DVD special edition has shipped!

I am still pissed that they took so long to ship but at least I am getting the DVD edition and for only $29.99 too.

Same here, hopefully it is actually the SE.

Can't beat $26 (There was a $5 off online purchases coupon around a month ago) for the SE. Especially since I bought 2003, so theres another $10 rebate.

Yep preordering online has been useless for me of late so I went to a gamestop local store put 5 bucks down and I had my copy on release date. Online might be easier but you often get the title extremely late or not at all.

Hope you guys get it. I realize this thread has been hijacked into a discussion of the game itself, but let us know how it goes!

Quick question...every once in a while while i'm playing my game will freeze for like a few seconds and the hard drive light comes on. It never did this until last night, and then today it did it twice. Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this? Is it the 'preload skin' option that I've disabled possibly?

Turning off the Preload Skin option could do it, since the game loads in the skins as new players join. I found that preferable compared to the longer load times when you have it load all the skins.

Even better if you add this line to your UT2004.ini

bForceDefaultCharacter=True

This will force all models to be the same. It saved a lot on my loading times and FPS since it's not trying to load skins all the time.

What severs are you all hanging out on? I'm on the officals servers for the team death match currently, normally somewhere between 8 - 10 EST. I'd consider myself a slightly worse than average player

what I mean is....for instance...putting a manta on top of say, a goliath...when you get to battle, fly off and somehow use that to your advantage....

i brought it up to see if it was a useful strategy for any of ya'll?

I never thought of trying that..would it even work? If so, what would the point be? If you wanted to use that vehicle then just use it.
