But stores have bad information all the time. We can't blame Atari and/or Epic for what they say.

that's probably why i thought it was going to be a USB headset. it's not a huge deal, but, it's annoying to go plug things into the back of the computer.

any adapters available?

I'm pissed at EB, I'm pissed at Best Buy, and I'm pissed at Epic.
EB apparently is switching people to the regular edition and shipping those out. Best Buy stores did not get 10 copies in and sold them ebfore the 18th. And Epic blew the logistics of the special edition release. Arrrrgggh.

I know there are USB --> Analog Sound adapters, but another solution is to get speakers that allow you to plug headphones and mic directly in.

And who exactly is blaming Atari or Epic for not including a USB headset? All I said was, what was printed on some stores websites.

Most speakers I've seen have a headset jack, but no mic jack. I just went to The Shack™ and bought a 10' mono 1/8" plug extension cable. I plugged it into my soundcard and laid the other end right by my speaker's headphone jack. Works fine.

heh, actually, i had just thought of that after trying to find some speakers w/ a mic jack.

i actually found a cheap pair (creative 270 ) for $21... but i kept thinking, i don't want to get another pair of cheap speakers.

i also looked at getting the Audigy2 NX - an external USB soundcard... but, again, a lot of effort just so i didn't have to plug in the mic to the back...

and then, hey! why don't i just get an extension cable from radio shack!

You said "advertisements," which I interpreted to mean "Atari/Epic."

the Bestbuy in NYC didn't have the Special Edition this morning. when asked, they claimed they put out the SE version the night before release date because.....get this...."the 'available 3/18' price in the circular wasn't directly over the SE version, only over the regular edition." biggest bunch of morons on this planet!!

OMG hidden vehicle

Don't know if it's real as i havn't seen it in action but I wouldn't doubt that it is considering the sense of humor at epic

The porn in the magazine rack on the side is a good touch. They also say it makes a flushing sound when you get on it lol

oh and here's a video

ok it's real

this is from the atari forums straight from one of the developers

(:> )

So you guys finally found it! HaHaHaHa!! Yeah, great vehicle that one. Nate needed a toilet for a spoof map he was making, then he saw what I was making and said "put wheels on it!"

Shortly after, it became this........thing. Keep looking. There are still other interesting....tidbits....on teh TC.
Fuzzlebunny, it was all Epic, btw...
oh btw this game is superb... i have everything at the highest setting and running in 1280X1024X32 and it runs flawlessly. I did like though, when you put everything at the highest settings the anouncer says HOLLLLLLY SHITTTTTTTTTTT

There's a level modeled after the infamous "goats" picture. I can't post a link to the pic since it's banned on here.

yeah i saw that, and it isn't nearly as bad as the real picture. I wouldn't think it would be a big deal as long as you don't post anything that looks any closer to the original. Anyone who has seen the original will know what it is and anyone who hasn't won't get it anyways

Can't believe I actually got a copy of the SE today at BB. They only had 6 copies this morning (4 sold yesterday...most likely to employees), and I was 4th in line before they opened.

It was really nice not having to swith discs while installing. Now I gotta see how the headphones work. I've got a live drive, so I'm hoping that I can just plug everything into it without fiddling with the back of my pc.

Got a copy this morning from Best Buy, quite happy - VERY impressive game. Excellent price, great game - I'm happy.

That's really, REALLY, ridiculously lame about them putting it out the night before, it seems like our store had sold quite a few copies the night prior.

It's also quite nice that they opted to include DivX files of the tutorials, they tend to run a lot better than DVDs themselves here.

The ****** and Toilet Vehicle are hysterical.
