Check out that gameplay footage. This camo system is freaking awesome! I just wish it wasn't encoded so low that it took away from the graphics.

I've Played both games and I agree with Trigun on this one. I much more enjoyed Splinter Cell To MGS. In Splinter Cell I didn't have to change my pants constantly to be stealthy.

Is it realistic to switch clothes and face paint within seconds?
Either a light meter or a stealth meter, it's a video game. I don't play video games to go into any reality. I play them to ESCAPE reality. bring on more MGS games if you ask me.
as if carrying around a gun store worth of weapons and gadgets in what looks like the size of a water bottle is realistic on any level.

Nope, no need to. I got MGS1 and MGS2 which I can play anytime I get the urge to be stealthy. Most of my time is spent being stealthy in SOCOM 2 online.

As for MGS3, hopefully it's as good as MGS1 for the PSX because MGS2 was a huge letdown for me.

Also, how can you judge a game if you never even gave it a try. I loved Metal gear one for PS1, in fact it's one of my all time favorite games but #2 was also a let down for me. I just didn't get that same feeling from it. Atleast give Splinter cell a rent and then come back to the thread. You might have a different view. If not, it's your loss. Your missing out on a great game.

I think my friend has it for the computer, I'll take a crack at it sometime this summer. I like the MGS style of play and stories (well, the end of MGS2 was shitty). Some people can't stand the cut scenes, but I think they are a good way to push a grabbing plot. I guess that is why I like FF games as well. Its the whole Japanese style that I enjoy. I'll definitely give SC a try though.

Here's a great interview with the man himself. Man this game is going to rock. The E3 trailer looks pretty sick. I still don't know what the big twist it 10 minutes into the game. I guess that's a good thing.
