Hacks winning Best Comedy Series over The Bear Season 2 was the biggest major Award stunner since Moonlight’s Oscar. I consider that a victory for Comedy in general - Hacks is a funny show, The Bear is not (though Season 2 was a great series of television).
Shogun ended up winning 18 Emmys, a record by 5 wins.

Amazing haul by Shogun. Easily IMO one of the, if not the best TV series of 2024.
I don't want to assume or speak for anyone because entertainment is highly subjective and some highly rated shows are not for everyone. But, man Shogun was so good.

Congrats to Shogun, a great show that deserves the awards it got (although I would have also liked to see Tadanobu Asano win for best supporting actor, loved his character on the show).
And wonderful to see Hacks win for best comedy, especially over that rollicking comedy show, The Bear

By far the best show of 2024. It had everything you’d want in a show and nothing you didn’t. Tight pacing, interesting characters, a few twists and all that other good show stuff.
