Re: The Traitors - Peacock Original reality competition

Yeah - the UK one is back on. Far superior to the US celeb one IMO. Watched the first two episodes.

Re: The Traitors - Peacock Original reality competition

Season 3 of the US version premieres tonight on Peacock at 9PM Eastern. There's three episodes premiering tonight and then one a week.

I’m going to avoid the show and this thread until it’s over and then binge it. That’s how I enjoy it best.

Well, I guess it did work out for him. He might not have been telling the whole truth at the time. He was great on House of Villains season 2. I'm actually going to watch "Worst Cooks in America" because he's on the new season.

Re: The Traitors - Peacock Original reality competition

That funhouse challenge in episode 3 was the most unfair challenge I've ever seen. I'm guessing they weren't allowed to say starting from the left the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th door. There was no good way to win the money unless you got incredibly lucky.

Or the people in the US version are idiots.

UK and US episodes have pretty identical challenges which makes sense

Re: The Traitors - Peacock Original reality competition

I also only watch Survivor and the Amazing Race. I’ve never seen Big Brother and I’ve never even heard of some of the shows the other contestants are from.

That said, last month somebody told me that I would probably like Traitors, so I gave it a try and ended up bingeing the first 2 seasons ahead of the S3 premiere. I’m enjoying it and I don’t mind the casting. With Survivor legends providing the hook, I’m all in for the show now. I’d like to see more Amazing Race contestants though. So far only Rachel and Boston Rob have been on the show.

S3 E4 spoiler:

Spoiler:

Boston Rob has taken full control of the game with that brilliant take down, but it does appear that he may have over-played it since he alienated his fellow traitors and a few faithfuls are suspicious.

I suspect another Traitor will be recruited next week

That’s true of course, but he & Amber ran the race twice and didn’t win, so he’s best known for Survivor. I fixed my post. Thanks for the heads up.

I think Boston Rob
Spoiler:
getting Bob The Drag Queen out is going to backfire him. As fellow traitor Danielle going to get him.

Re: The Traitors - Peacock Original reality competition

While watching the most recent episode, my wife (who doesn’t watch Survivor) turned to me and asked : So what’s the deal with Caroline? I replied “Like I told you, that bitch is CRAZY”.

Regarding S3E4 :
Spoiler:
I agree, Rob really overplayed his hand. Hard to imagine a scenario where that doesn’t get him ousted really soon. Which is a bummer since he’s always good reality television.
I’ve never watched this show before — how does a traitor turning on another this early help any of them at all? Seems like a dumb move.

Re: The Traitors - Peacock Original reality competition

I think the move by Rob can work because he has Dylan on his side and like he said bring him to the end. There are a lot of other targets still out there that are more suspect than Rob. It was a smart move to not put a traitor in the casket as Nikki and Ciara are stil next on the chopping block. Too soon for Danielle to go after Rob as it may turn on her as too many already feel she is a traitor and may overplay her hand.

Re: The Traitors - Peacock Original reality competition

Its been a good season so far, I much prefer the UK one though, do find that on Peacock and watch its better with regular people.
the Celeb aspect is fine, but some characters are way too much.

Also the UK version is rolled out 3 eps a week for 4 weeks, perfect pacing. It's all finished now s3. and they do mostly the same challenges.

Caught up on Season 3 of US. Just an awful group of Traitors this time. Rob did his best under the circumstances but overplayed his hand.

Re: The Traitors - Peacock Original reality competition

The US players aren't good ... but there's silly entertainment in their awfulness. Alan's campy approach to this kind of cast works perfectly, compared to how Claudia plays it straight with UK Traitors (which are all "regular" people). Except for the Survivor players, I don't know anyone. Could Tom Sandoval possibly be that dumb for real?

Just finished the UK Season 3. Good season and people seemed to play really well. I like do like how in Season 3 of UK and US they upped the importance of challenges with more strategic shield availability and decisions. I hope they introduce the new strategy element to the US show:
Spoiler:
top money winner in a challenge becomes "The Seer", with the ability to find out 100% if one other player is Faithful or Traitor. It really added to the drama in addition to another layer of strategy.

Spoilers about how Traitors UK season 3 went:
Spoiler:
Cruel twist on the "cage boys" challenge with there not being enough coins to lower everyone ... and the guy not lowered is just kicked off the show! I think Traitors and Faithful alike played well. Unlike the US show, Traitors all got along and only voted for each other when it was clear that's how the group was going. Feel bad for Freddie. Just put in a no-win situation being given an ultimatum (become a Traitor or die) and immediately being thrown under the bus by Charlotte. And Frankie as Seer picking Charlotte was so dramatic. If I was playing the smart move would've been to vote out both of them just to be on the safe side. And Alexander had some sus on him from being a "cage boy" and messing up at the final table. Even though they got rid of a couple of Faithfuls, Lianne and Jake did the smart thing in taking no chances. They were strong all show deserved to win.

Bad news for the UK version - it seems the next season will be a celebrity one. The reason I like the UK one is it's normal people. I'll skip it if it's true.

Re: The Traitors - Peacock Original reality competition

Yeah I also watch ( guilty pleasure ) Love Island UK, and this is a Love Island All Stars, which makes it kind of silly as they are all in the same world, they do events together etc.
So not as fun.

Re: The Traitors - Peacock Original reality competition

Danielle's overacting is tough for me to stomach. Crying and convulsing on the floor? Seriously?

Still have faith in the show's editors that they're setting her up for a big fall. On air they don't show it. But from post-game interviews players are very much of the strategy of keeping a known traitor around until the late game stage when murders don't happen anymore.

The semester is over and I am now watching Season 3 (US)… I’m two episodes in and this is diabolical!

I’ll be back when it’s over!

Finished it this afternoon. I didn't anyone but the Survivor players but it was a good season and the Traitors - wow! - I've never seen them that unstable.

I liked Boston Rob the first two times he was on Survivor - since then, not so much.

I am glad for how it ended but felt sorry for the final traitor... that was rough.
