Hetty flipping out at the end for "reasons" was hilarious.

Re: Ghosts (CBS remake of BBC show) Oct 2021

A part of me wants that the ending leaves Jay dead for a split second, so that he can now see the others for a moment. Like he's in a coma or something recoverable for an episode. Interesting that we don't see the guests at the front door. I thought it was a nice moment that they all said goodbye to Sam in case she lost the ability and Isaac coming out to Nigel.

Way to soon for him to be seeing Ghosts, IMO. Enjoyable season, glad CBS stuck with it.

But then we wouldn’t get the inevitable arc where Sam loses the ability and Jay gets it to flip the situation.

This show is just delightful.

Re: Ghosts (CBS remake of BBC show) Oct 2021

My hunch is that's in store for season two. The fall and hit on the head makes Sam's ability go away and Jay's ability begin.

My season three hunch: Jay will lose it and they all have to figure out what to do until they both get it again.

Great finale. Was hoping to see more backstory on the FarnsB&B ghost.

You know that is being left for a future episode in Season Two, and I do appreciate the wordplay that brought us FarnsB&B, it really did make me chuckle.

Renewed for a 3rd season

I thought this comedy was supposedly good? I heard it was good and all seasons are on Paramount + But, this thread has been dead for almost 9 months. No one is watching or there is nothing to talk about?

It is a good show. Since sitcoms are by their nature adverse to major developments that alter the sit, there would not be much to chew on, and usually when people are posting about sitcoms, it is to complain.
And this show features no Rose McIver nudity, so there goes a lot of DVD Talk talk out the window.

Nice, well deserved pickup. I love this show. It's the only sitcom I'm currently watching on non-streaming TV.

Re: Ghosts (CBS remake of BBC show) Oct 2021

DJariya, this show is so wonderful and like many others on this site, one of only a small handful of shows (like Abbott Elementary) that I watch recorded on my dvr and do not rely on Hulu to catch up.

The thing that makes me really happy is it seems like so far the core cast is holding together going into a 3rd season. It will be a bit of a bummer when we start to see less of certain ghosts (or the show tries to introduce a new permanent ghost in the home) because an actor/actress being on this show gets noticed by others who want to offer them the opportunity to leave Ghosts and be in a new project. This show has a pretty large cast of characters, and they all bring something great to the table so eventually I expect to read about the occasional loss of a regular as they move on to other opportunities, but thankfully, that day is not here yet.

Ghost will eventually just get sucked off. Getting sucked off is what they want.

We love this show. It's a consistent family watch for us and we're along for the ride. The kids were excited to hear of the early renewal notice this time around.

Well, it's better than going down. None of them want to go down.

Dude...it's DVDTALK. Threads die around here for many reasons.

That said. I watch this show every week. But don't bother commenting in here since no one seems to give a fuck. I'm also active on their Show IG where there is LOTS of love and I follow of a few of the actors on IG.

Yea, what's great about the show is the core Ghosts, secondary Ghosts (Basement, Headless 50's ghost,British Ghosts, and then the Ghosts they can easily include played by Guest Star actors playing Ghosts that can come back or never come back at any time. i.e. the 80's Teen who sleeps in the Attic who wakes once a year, Hetty's Husband who got sucked off to Hell, Hetty's Maid who got sucked off into Heaven, and Sam's Mom's, who was at the Diner in another state, who got sucked off into Heaven.

I mean we have at least 2 ghosts at the Neighbor's home(Thor's son and 50's Housewife), 2 at the Newspaper(News Boy and Native Girl) in town, Ghost Doctor at Sam's Doctor's office, and now we have a ghost who stays with a car. The possibilities are endless since Sam can see ghosts wherever she goes.

Re: Ghosts (CBS remake of BBC show) Oct 2021

It's a cute, mostly consistent sitcom. I have noticed they are pushing the two nominal leads this season more into the background in favor of ghost-only sub-plots.

I'm not sure how they'll keep coming up with decent material for certain characters, especially the Viking character. They already felt so limited by his character they had to give him a ghost son living across the street.

The OG UK Ghosts is still going. They just aired season 4 + an xmas special in 2022. I'm hoping it makes it to HBOMax like the previous seasons.
