Ghosts (CBS remake of BBC show) Oct 2021

I watch the original British show and love it. All 3 season are on HBOMax. This remake looks ok. Not liking some changes. But I do LOOOVE Rose McIver from I,Zombie

This is the trailer for the original BBC show.

Premiered tonight. Haven't watched it yet.

Only seen Season 1 of the British version so far but enjoyed it.

Not sure how long it'll remain fresh but I enjoyed it.

Thought it was VERY good. Great to see something different from the normal run of the mill comedies. I do wonder how the concept can last and hold up long term, but I guess the British version has had multiple seasons so maybe it can

I watched and enjoyed several episodes of the original British series and should finish it up. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the American remake of this show. It works, and I hope that the show's budget allows the fairly large cast of ghosts to remain part of the show. This could still be a very fun one and done if CBS gets to air a full 10-12 episodes to give us a fairly fleshed out and complete story arc.

ETA: Also, I am in the same camp as most dudes, I think Rose McIver is gorgeous and I loved her in iZombie, those Netflix Holiday films, and now this show. Glad to have her back on tv on a weekly basis.

Watched the first episode of the BBC version. The CBS show is following the original almost too closely. I'm guessing it's because it's a pilot.

OK, watched the 2 eps. I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. Still not happy with some of the changes, but I'll live.

The third episode uses a plot point from the first season but unlike the BBC original, it does not become a season long thing. It also manages to start finding its own storyline.

Ghosts is funny enough. I like the format and the writing has shown promise.

I ran across this on Hulu on demand and got hooked on it (the first 3 episodes).

I enjoyed it and it has a few good laughs here and there. Looking forward to the next episode.

Wife and I enjoyed the first episode. Hopefully it becomes the next show we love together, since the sad cancellation of Zoey.

Zoey’s Extraordinary Christmas is filming right now and will debut on Roku’s app this year. ;)

So the mid-season finale was this week. This is really one of my favorite shows right now. It’s nothing extraordinary, but it’s fun with a good heart. It’s also really well cast, I love all of them. They definitely hit a good pace and connection with each other. Second half apparently starts up January 6th.

Wife and I may check out the original in the meantime, I think it’s on HBO Max.

I’m still enjoying it.

Having a hard time remembering, but has there ever been a scene away from the mansion? (in the current timeline, and not in a flashback)

Concur with your opinion. I never thought much of the husband before that last episode when he was playing the snooty Victorian ghost. Great, great impersonation.

Yes.....Sam at the Doctor's office, Sam with husband driving in the city, and Sam at her job where she was writing the article about the bank robbery. All featured Non Estate Ghosts. Sam can see ghosts wherever she goes.

Wife and I are enjoying this. Looking forward to more.

Also watching the BBC episodes as well. Three's some interesting differences (aside from that the English is terrible ;) )

Nice

CBS’ ‘Ghosts’ leads prime-time TV ratings for new shows

“Ghosts” was at the top of the list for first-year series for the fourth time, averaging 6.478 million viewers, 16th for the week and seventh among entertainment programs

Rachael Harris (the Doctor from Lucifer) played Sam's Mom in the 1/6/22 ep.

I finally got around to seeing the BBC original. Just as good and different enough to not be a full blown remake. Both are actually great shows and have completely different vibes and personalities to it. I would love some kind of crossover.
