Even if it is true that he feels that way, do you think he is sharing that with random "Hollywood insiders?"

My wife and I mentioned Barbie and my daughter was too giggly to say if the friends remembered her from that role. They all saw it and it was a memorable part so I figure it probably sank in at some point. She called right after it happened so it was somewhat real-time after Kate walked away that we talked about it

I do not want to start another "How do people not know who this person is?" thing. But that is my reaction. I can't fathom a group of young women not knowing who Weird Barbie is, even if they have no awareness of SNL, which I also would find hard to accept.

Kristen Wiig?

I have never found Kristen Wiig attractive, but if that is a promotional photo of her from her Apple TV show, I have to say that she looks great.

Anything in particular we should watch for in that video?

She will probably pick up an Emmy nod for The Bear next month.

I will watch it today or Sunday and will give the lowdown.

She probably did not have a lot of time to speak since Kamala Harris took all the time and there were no musical guests either.

Hard to believe they would give the Vice-President of the United States twenty whole minutes of interview time, especially when a supporting actress on a basic cable TV show is waiting in the wings.

I skipped the Kamala interview

Why can't they let the politicians do the Sun morning shows and ban them from the late night shows which are suppose to be fun and entertaining.

Anyways I did not know Abby Elliot acted in some of Jimmy Kimmels sketches and Jimmy was a big fan of her dad Chris Elliot since he did Letterman.

Which are primarily intended to be fun and entertaining, but ever since Steve Allen hosted the Tonight Show in the late 50s, these nightly talk shows have included politicians as guests and discussions of more serious topics. How much or how little was completely dependent on the interests of the hosts and what they wanted to have on their show.

But if I had written that way, it could have implied that I was only talking about the Tonight Show, and not the entire tradition of late night talk shows. Also phrasing it as "ever since Steve Allen," places emphasis right away on the idea that these are the decisions of the hosts. Conan O'Brien is well-educated about history and politics, but did not have political guests on Late Night because that was not a direction he wanted to take the show in. Of course, Dick Cavett leaned into serious topics and guests on his show.

I was going to reply and tell you Jack Oaar was first. Nope, you got it right. DVDTalk, and the TV Talk forum specifically, is my primary source for information! -ptth-

I thought it was on FX since it is called "FX's The Bear."

I miss the days when FX and not Hulu would air those shows.

The Linda Lindas were on Fallon this week performing a song from the Talking Heads tribute album that A24 put out.

This means they are officially on the NYC / 30 Rock / SNL radar!!<--Paff

I saw that.

Michael Che will do a set on Fallon next week.

I hope Chloe Fineman is not reaching that point where she will leave SNL next year.

She was also on the Carvey and Spade podcast.

Thanks for the shout-out. I was thinking while watching the show, that between the host and all 3 guests, only one has not appeared on SNL yet. It's probably a matter of time.

That said, I didn't care for The Linda Lindas' performance on the show. It just wasn't....them. They're better off when they can play their own songs their way. And while I'm a fan of them, I'm aware of their musical limitations, and apparently so was The Tonight Show, when they had to add two more guitarists to a band that already features two. I didn't see another bassist though, which if true, props to Eloise Wong for playing a Tina Weymouth bass line.
