Longfellow has to step up.

It seems he has not found his voice or niche on the show yet.

I wonder who would have been the hosts and musical guests after the Pete Davidson show?

Kieran Culkin and Jennifer Coolidge. https://tvline.com/2023/05/04/snl-se...e-finale-host/

Coolidge hosting the finale tracks. Me, I've never seen the appeal, but apparently a lot of people think she's a comic genius, so a very appropriate choice for the finale

And the MGs would have been Labrinth (never heard of) and Foo Fighters

re: SNL General Discussion Thread

Probably they will be slotted into the shows for the Fall 2023-2024 season.

Coolidge I can live without and was hoping maybe a former cast member would host.

re: SNL General Discussion Thread

Foo Fighters for real? That would have been cool especially if they'd be debuting their new drummer.

The Please Don't Destroy dudes have a movie coming out in Nov 2023

A new buddy comedy from Please Don’t Destroy, the writing trio of “Saturday Night Live” fame, will no longer play in theaters. Instead, the untitled movie will premiere exclusively on Peacock, the streaming service owned by NBCUniversal, on Nov. 17.

Ben Marshall, John Higgins and Martin Herlihy, better known as Please Don’t Destroy, wrote the film, which was produced by Judd Apatow and Jimmy Miller. The story centers on three childhood friends who live and work together. When the threesome decides they don’t like their life trajectory, they set off to find a gold treasure that is rumored to be buried in the nearby mountain. They discover that finding the treasure is actually the easiest part of the adventure.

Universal didn’t give a reason for the move from theaters (it was set to release on Aug. 18) to streaming, but it’s been a tough environment for theatrical comedies. “Ticket to Paradise” and “The Lost City” managed to beat expectations thanks to boldface stars like George Clooney, Julia Roberts and Sandra Bullock. But rave reviews weren’t enough to save last year’s “Bros” with Billy Eichner.

Labrinth's probably best known for doing the music for Euphoria. His biggest song is the one he did with Zendaya.

Ha, my DVR picked up a "new episode" of Saturday Night Live last night. It was just a few minutes of advertisement for Pete Davidson's new Peacock show. NBC taking a page from the AMC playbook...

Yeah, so did mine, which I thought was weird since it was Friday night. Deleted.

Megan Thee Stallion had the best musical performance of the season?

WTF?

Colplday was ranked the worst.

It was a rough season for Saturday Night Live, which endured painful cast attrition (Aidy Bryant, Cecily Strong, et al.), mixed reviews and a writers strike that knocked out Season 48's final three episodes. But at least the musical guests offered some major highlights. For the second straight season, SNL leaned away from the safe spaces of guitar-driven rock, opting instead to focus more heavily than ever on R&B and (especially) hip-hop. The results were a typically mixed bag, with occasionally transcendent results.

I doubt Jack White being ranked 12 out of 18 and Sam Smith the third best would please most people.

^^ In 2023, where most things are backwards, it makes total sense.

I doubt most people would bother to read the article, and would just look at the list of artist rankings, and likely misunderstand what the rankings meant.
