That good huh? Think it would mean anything if I just watched finale?

It's jaw-dropping that it was penned in only 2 weeks.

Come on, try not to tear up at this:

I'm not saying it wasn't great at all. It was and like you said the perfect combination of closing a chapter while leaving the future wide open. One of the best series finales of all time....but it just wasn't really a finale because of the movies. I remember when the cast was interviewed about it at the time even they said it didn't feel like a goodbye because they started right up with filming Generations. I will forever hate Nemesis because of the way they ended the TNG run. The movie itself was pretty mediocre but would have infinitely been forgiven if it wasn't the last hurrah for the best Star Trek crew and cast. Like imagine if the TOS ended with STII, granted it's not a fair comparison because that was a superb movie but ending it all on a cliff hanger would have been terrible. Or imagine it ending the run with a terrible movie like STV. Even if they had reworked Nemesis just a little bit it could have been tolerable. Remove the Data sacrifice (or keep his sacrifice but remove B4 to give his sacrifice more gravitas) and have a short send off, something like the ending of STVI or the final shot of All Good Things and it could have been an acceptable ending for the crew.

I remember a couple of years ago, I decided to watch this on Hulu and they didn’t have it. They had every episode but that. I wondered if some scarred Hulu employee was trying to scrub the ending.

Angel has already been mentioned. Same with Chuck, which I hated at first, but it has grown on me through the years. Eureka and Warehouse 13 are also light and sweet send offs that I get all weepy over.

Chuck is up there with Quantum Leap. It's not the finale/coda fans were expecting but both are bittersweet and more nuanced and easier to appreciate upon multiple viewings.

Haven had a good ending. I wish I could say the same for The Magicians but I've tried blocking most of the last season from memory.

I’ve actually been thinking of doing a Haven binge. Most of those I only ever saw once live or within a few days of airing.
Sadly, that last Magicians season shouldn’t have happened. It didn’t completely jump the shark like some shows have, but it just lost it’s magical spark (no pun intended) without that particular character. On the other hand, that show always embraced the difficulty aspects of being human, so a season built around dealing with grief isn’t out of character.

The show got arrogant thinking they could write out the Magicians' linchpin character since day one and not miss him/her (didn't want the gender to spoil it for anyone that hasn't seen the series) that last season. It felt like Zombie Magicians without that vital character.
