Agree. I would argue that pretty much all of the episodes are filler. It is sort of a throwback show just trying to entertain and has sort of an 80s feel to it. I think that is a large part of the charm. I enjoy it as just breezy entertainment. It's fun.

Edit: Except the part with baby clone Yoda and the eggs. I found that not funny and pretty creepy. I felt bad for the frog lady

Everyone is assuming that The Child is benevolent. He might be an evil little bastard for all we know. We have see it hurt people, or at least attempt to.

Or, it's still a child, and hasn't learned right from wrong yet. It's hungry, and it eats something that it perceives as food.

For those saying this is filler, I agree. I don't need every episode to have some major plot twist (I do love shows like The Haunting of Hill House where we get a mini surprise or cliff hanger) but it should have continuity and move the plot forward. The space frog will never be seen again; maybe we'll see the X-Wing pilots again, maybe. That said, they plot needs to have an over-arching story mapped because technically S3 isn't green-lit and, I've read, when it is, it'll likely be the last. I just don't want this series to go down the road of the ST where there were so many opportunities yet we got this mish-mash mess and we wonder "what if".

He might be evil but he's a cute little shit.

The puppet/animatronic work is well done. Are they using a remote controlled robot/puppet for Baby Yoda in some scenes? It seems that they are, especially when they shoot him in the wide open.

The best 5 million dollars can buy.

Baby Yoda is one of the greatest things to come out of the Star Wars universe. But greatness isn't cheap. The Baby Yoda puppet in Disney+'s The Mandalorian cost $5 million to make, actor Adam Pally told Entertainment Weekly in an interview published Saturday

Considering how much Baby Yoda merchandise Disney will be selling for years to come, 5 million dollars sounds like chicken scratch.

I guess I'm in the camp that doesn't give a shit about Baby Yoda. And it eating the eggs and the Mother *Gieco* Lizard not noticing and killing baby yoda after the show made a point that those were the last of her line was BUUUULSHIIIIIT!!!...but I guess since the fans are so in love with this show, they let huge shit like that huge issue slide. Lame.

Anyway, this ep was also creepy/gross with those spider things. Fuck Spider in all forms.

This is it exactly. It gets tiring to watch when you have to remember who did what and who died how many times to be able to enjoy a show. Sometimes, (a lot of times actually) simpler is better. And this show has the perfect balance, IMHO, between continuity (The higher moral road Mando took in last season had real consequences in this season and apparently frog lady was in the background of the cantina scene last season) and not having that continuity have to be a requirement to remember for new episodes.

A lot of it may not be super important. However, if you recalled two characters that had a conversation and a reaction to finding out in the current timeline that happened differently. There was also one where someone was a bad guy, then they worked them them to a bad guy(ish) again because of timeline changes and the main character had no idea why because they never personally did anything in that timeline.

I like time travel stories yet unless the story is about that itself some shows may need to back off a little bit to not make everything such a mess. And it's very pick and choose. Oh, I can't change that yet I can change that other thing.

Eh...I have an 8 year old. She knows its just fiction. And we were both laughing about it. It seems like people are really butt hurt about a giant space frog's eggs being eaten by a 50 year old green baby played by a muppet under the care of a faceless bounty hunter while being chased by ice spiders. So....people really can be butt hurt about anything these days

We watched it with my 11 year old daughter and she had no problem, she knows it's all pretend and was laughing her ass off as much as my wife and I were.

I don't understand all the "filler" complaints. This is like a nostalgic throwback show that reminds me of the "adventure of the week" shows I watched when I was a kid. Hell, I get similar vibes to this as I did when I was watching the Planet of the Apes TV show when I was seven years old (which I loved). If there was a Star Wars TV show when I was a kid (as I'm sure we all desperately hoped for, in vain), this is how I would've imagined the stories would be like (disregarding what would then be considered unimaginable special effects on an unthinkable budget  ). This show is aimed at, and decisively hits, the heart of the 10 year old Star Wars fan that still resides deep inside me. That's why this is the most enjoyable SW experience for me since 1983. Shit, how could I not love this?

People are so sensitive these days. It’s absolutely ridiculous. The Child/Baby Yoda is just that. He’s going to be a little shit and do bad things at times. Like any other child or baby would. It doesn’t make him evil or something. He saw something and put it in his mouth because he was curious. It tasted good to him so he had more. It’s absolutely as simple as that. Plus they’re fictional characters in a fictional universe. It’s not as though anything real was harmed. People need to get fucking lives.

It wasn't the egg eating that made people have issues with it, it's the mother. If the cargo was only the egg container, no one would care if he ate them. But we saw the mother caring and trying to keep them alive. That's what made it (IMO) kinda poor taste for a show kids watch.

The eggs were unfertilized. It was basically equivalent The Child eating eggs you could buy at the grocery store. He wasn't eating live baby frogs. But, I see how people interpreted it as The Child eating the young being protected by their mother even though they weren't even close to being in full form.

I know; I'm not a child. lol

I'm sure there were kids who didn't see it that way. At least, I assume so since it has become a thing of discussion.

Only thing I was worried about is how many eggs he was going to eat. She only had so many and, like humans, she wasn't making more. And the ones she had might not all be good enough to get fertilized. She only had so many chances.

But again, he’s essentially a kid. He doesn’t know any better. Also again it’s fictional creatures and fictional eggs. People are so ready to find something to be offended by in literally anything anymore. Also Mando told him not that I do it. So it’s not like he’s being encouraged. He’s a kid and does bad things at times.

Same goes for real children who watch the show. "I" was not offended by it at all but I can 100% understand how a child who hasn't been desensitized yet would be disturbed/confused by it because of how they portrayed the mother character.

The show isn’t necessarily for kids. Kids probably watch it and one of the characters is a kid, and it’s on Disney+, but it technically is rated TV-14.

Also, why is this different than Mando stealing the egg from the Mudhorn, which the Jawas proceeded to eat? Plus there’s quite a bit of violence not for kids, but this apparently is where the line is drawn for some. -rolleyes-

It’s like people watch things not for entertainment but for the sole purpose of finding something to complain about.

DS9 took it from Babylon 5, which is without question the first American show that had a story arc beginning, middle and end. (You could say that Murder One had a one season version, years earlier, but B5 created the multi season arc on American television.)
