I just got caught up with the 3rd episode. That was an excellent episode. Good follow up to the Pilot and there was some tension. The fake cop who planted the poisoned soda and the fake lawyer being some kind of Trojan horse were cool twists. So whoever is behind this conspiracy is covering their tracks by eliminating the paid assassin.
If you bailed because you thought the 2nd standalone episode was boring, I think you jumped ship prematurely. As Cellar Door said, this is setting up a larger storyline in addition to the standalone episodes.

I’ve kept up with it. It’s become more serialized since the Pilot. P+ is probably a better fit and they can make it edgier.

The show seems to be going into full social justice mode. The main storylines in the last episode were racial discrimination by the FBI and the harmful effects of Buffalo Bill on trans people.

A 2nd season on Paramount + is not looking good now.

It's a very long read with a lot of TV business and licensing talk that most of you probably don't care about or get. But, MGM is playing hardball with negotiations.
I have kept up with the show. It has become more serialized than procedural. The most recent episode I saw was about the daughter of Clarice's boss basically having a meltdown.
It's a dark show. This should have been developed as a premium R rated show, not a network show.

Bummer if it get canceled. It has some good moments. It always should have been on a streamer given the content. Not sure why CBS thought broadcast was a good idea.

I dropped it a while ago. It just wasn’t very good and super slow. The release schedule is also all over the place when random weeks on and off. CBS really killed this one. Evil should have aired in its place given its already “completed” and ready to go.

If Clarice gets the official shitcan, does that mean NBC/Universal can get the rights back to do SOTL in a future season of Hannibal?
Granted, they've already sort of gone off the script by combining Red Dragon and Hannibal (novel) in the third season, but I'd still like to see SOTL get adapted in that universe (along with the novel ending of Hannibal used).
(And, yeah, I'm still pissed that Clarice and CBS were able to cock-block the original plans for the Hannibal series.)

The character rights and who owns them are very convoluted.

My guess is Clarice is going to Amazon...I mean, they just bought MGM. One wonders if the reasons that negotiations didn't go well with Paramount is because Amazon whispered in someone's ear.

Just finished the last 2 episodes of Paramount + I had been sitting on them for awhile, so I wanted to wrap this up. The season long arc wrapped up in the finale. Krendler did got shot in the finale, but survived. Clarice helped bring down the psycho CEO who was the mastermind.
There really wasn't any loose threads other than leaving it open for Clarice to return to the team for a "2nd season" It ended with Clarice visiting her Mom who I assume she's estranged from. But, I know this show is for all intents and purposes cancelled, since the Paramount + deal fell through. MGM was stupid for pulling out of the deal. They would have gotten paid a nice chunk of change from CBS. Especially for a show that hardly anyone watched.
As mentioned this show had absolutely no buzz at all. The trades weren't covering it and no TV pundits were talking about it beyond the Pilot. Most of the reviews were from only the 1st episode. In this day and age with so much on the air, you need buzz and WOM to keep shows in the conversation otherwise they just get completely forgotten.
With a new Fall season starting, I'm sure it's very doubtful any of you will watch this now. I don't know how long Paramount + will keep this since CBS doesn't own the show entirely. MGM owns half of it.

I mean, this has to be dead now, right? This show is still in some weird limbo.

Never got around to it. Might do a binge watch since it's one and done.
