I haven’t seen every episode, but the animated shows are definitely better than I expected them to be. Kind of take a while to get going but once they do there’s some good added character development and storylines.

Everything now produced since the Disney buyout in 2012 is now completely canon. The novels, the comic books, the cartoons, and the video games are fully canon. All of the pre-2012 stuff (besides the six movies, the CGI Clone Wars series, and a comic book based on unproduced Clone Wars stories) has been decanonized and filed under the "Legends" imprint.

I was always curious what the Darksaber would look like in live action.

I have a friend who did not like the look of it -- said it looked like rotoscope animation from like the first Tron film or something.

That works for me. Just like the fake stop motion effects applied to IG. Love it.

Just finished watching this season and I enjoyed it. I think lots of people will either stick with Disney+ or at least get it again when the next season is released. It's worth it.

I have spoken.

Already cancelled my subscription now that Mandalorian is over. I'll renew it when the next live-action SW show debuts or the first live-action MCU show starts (or season 2 of Mandalorian begins, whichever is first).

So that was actually Pally and Suedeikis in the trooper outfits?

What are the chances that Disney releases The Mandalorian S1 on Blu-ray/UHD?

I'd buy it.....hell, I'd rewatch the entire series in the theater if they decided to do a theatrical release.

Di$ney will probably release it with exclusive extended episodes on blu-ray to get D+ subscribers to pay for it again.

For those who are interested in the lore part and how some inside the series is tying into the SW Universe, a interesting article at IGN on the "Darksaber" that appeared at the end.... https://www.ign.com/articles/2019/12...ack-lightsaber

Has there been any word confirming whether or not that was Moff Gideon at the end of episode 5?

The theme used during the IG droid's raid - epic...

Yeah, I’m trying to decide if I’ll keep it or not. It’s relatively cheap, but not sure I’ll watch it much until season two starts up or one of the MCU or Star Wars shows starts. I might keep it a while at least because I want to go through the animated Star Wars shows in their entirety.

I totally agree with this. All I can say about Mandalorian is Favreau just "gets it." I wish he would write or direct a trilogy or stand alone Star Wars movie.

I will gladly purchase it (for the right price of course) ... digital/streaming is handy and convenient ... until it isn't. Two prime examples happened yesterday that show why I hang on to physical media:

1.) My son asked me to add a couple of movies that we received for the holidays to our Movies Anywhere account. Of course, one of them wouldn't work with MA, so we had to add that one to Vudu. Having to fragment a digital collection across multiple sources is an annoyance, but a legitimate one.

2.) I know this was a local internet issue, but my wife and I were trying to have a relaxing night on the couch last night. I have been trying to talk her into dumping cable, so we tried watching one of her favorite shows on Hulu ... constant internet slowdowns and shutdowns made the night much less relaxing.

So, yes, please! Release it on home video with an exclusive Mandolorian helmet case!

I've been wondering this ... haven't gone back to look close enough to see if you can match up the boots or cloak.

They made a point of including the sound of spurs to emphasize that the mystery man was "The Gunslinger". I don't see Moff Gideon as a Gunslinger ... nor did they include the sound when he appeared. I'm thinking he wasn't ... but then why drop that so abruptly. They easily could have included a mystery figure on the fringes in the following episodes.

Yeah well I've been hoisted on my own petard. I shared my PW with my young nieces and they're really into Pixar and such. So cancelling would break their hearts. Their parents are cheap and wouldn't get a subscription when it was on sale. Besides Mando I've watched everything on Marvel. The only bright side, being a Hulu Live subscriber I get a $6 credit on my Disney+.

Re: The Mandalorian: Chapter 8: Redemption (S1E8) - 12/27/19

I probably won't axe Disney+ as I have the bundle deal and sold all of my MCU Blu-Rays (I used the digital download on most of them as well). I still have some lingering questions as I haven't been on here in a while:

1) Was the AT ST they took down one with AI? I don't think those bandits had the ability to drive such a thing and the red lights inside made me think that was the case.

2) Have there been any moves to fire Kennedy from Lucsafilm? I think we need someone like Favreau in charge.
