Ok, I’ll watch the first few episodes, but I don’t know how long I’ll be able to stick it out once it goes back to the old CW formula.

Is it not being renewed for a second season? CW just posted this and I don’t see it there or Stargirl either.

Because it hasn’t aired yet. The stuff they renewed is current content on the network. They probably want to wait and see how it does, but honestly it’s a foregone conclusion IMO. I assume with Stargirl they want to see how the CW produced episodes does as well.

They save the renewal "decision" for a preplanned marketing blitz on an unaired show like Superman. The show is already locked in for five years unless one of the lead actors dies.

Re: Superman & Lois TV series coming to The CW

The premiere of Superman & Lois will be replayed on TNT as part of a deal between Warnermedia and ViacomCBS
WarnerMedia and ViacomCBS announced that shows including CW's upcoming "Superman and Lois" will have a replay on TNT on February 27 and 9 PM Eastern following its debut. There will also be a special talking about the series following the episode.

As part of the repay agreement, TBS reality competition series "Go Big Show" which features Cody Rhodes and WWE Hall of Famer Snoop Dogg will air on February 12 at 8 PM Eastern on the CW.

I know some of you don't care about her, but Grace Randolph saw the Pilot and posted a quick reaction tweet

I noticed in that twitter feed there is talk of “RaceBending”
This is a term I never heard before and apparently it means changing the race of a character.

I guess everything had a word for it.

They did that with Jimmy Olsen. So it’s not exactly innovative.

I mean Smallville did the same thing with Pete Ross, didn't they? Or Flash with Iris.

I know that. I’m saying I never heard the term used before I saw it in that twitter feed.

I had thought it's more often used like "whitewashing" or taking a role that was supposed to go to a traditionally under represented group and giving it to, well, another group. But I guess it's been co-opted the other way too.

TV Line gave it a B+

Grace Randolph posted her non spoiler review today and also gave it a positive review. She said it doesn't feel like a CW show at all. She says it feels more like a DC Universe show like Titans.

Also, apparently there is no mention of the Arrowverse and this takes place 10+ years into the marriage of Clark and Lois after Crisis. So there's simply no way they can do a crossover with the other shows on that timetable.

IGN gave it an 8 out of 10

I feel like it’ll be at CW-level quality by episode 3. Supergirl looked (and was written) terribly, and Stargirl is likely going to have the same fate.

Barry can travel through time. Anything is possible if they need viewers.

I wasn't really excited for this show but was going to support it anyway. But as we get closer I'm getting stoked. That said, i will be FFWD-ing all the scenes with the Super Sons and maybe Cryptkeeper Lois.. j/k

Reminder - this airs tonight. Not sure if there’s an intent to make a season 1 thread, or just keep convo here.

How about changing the thread title to a season thread title?

Re: Superman & Lois TV series coming to The CW

my thought is that given this is 5 pages already it may make sense to do a season thread and have renewal discussion or other stuff in this thread. That way if there is a second season its not looking awful with only 3 pages for the season or whatever.

Well while it’s only 3 pages for me I see the point so that’s probably a good idea.
