Shannon, you and I read the same info. I'm thinking Wayans was difficult to work with and Crawford hated dealing with it. Wayans is the bigger name, so the network sides with him over Crawford.

You hear stories all the time about actors hating each other behind the scenes. Too bad they couldn't make it work this time.

No, not a classic in TV terms, but sure a heck of a fun watch. And as someone who has been reviewing TV series for almost two decades now, Crawford's performance was one of those rarities - even moreso when you consider the fact that he took on a well-established movie character.

Some decision seems to have been made though - Damon Wayans' twitter feed in the last 24 hours has gone from bashing Crawford and being rather "uppity" with fans to being quite supportive of Crawford and the series and saying what a great team they were working together.

That could mean TWO things, depending on what's going on...either Fox has axed the series, freeing Wayans up for other things, or he got a call saying that keeping Crawford was the ONLY way this show would continue. I doubt VERY much that Fox will pick this up with a replacement actor - I could be wrong, but that's just my guess, unless the actor they signed is a "name."

Crawford posted on Instagram that he still has no official word from FOX or WB yet.

That means nothing. (A) Actors and people on the show are ALWAYS the last to know and (B) He's "officially" still under contract and wouldn't be allowed to say anything anyway.

I saw Wayans Twitter feed as you mentioned and it’s hilarious how it went from indirectly bashing Clayne and Wayans loving taking shots from angry Clayne supporters to now supporting the show.

I thought the show was better and more amusing than I ever thought it would be.

Shame the two leads didn't get along, as they seemed to have good chemistry on screen - as did the most of the cast, and certain recurring characters.

Personally I liked him on the American Pie movies, but not sure if he really works on a cop procedural like this. Sure, there's humor, but not sure I buy Stifler as a cop.

Apparently SWS could play Riggs brother.

And it looks like the decision to can him came from WB.

Damon Wayans set his Twitter account to private now. I’ve been a follower, so I don’t lose access.

He must be getting a barrage of hate tweets from Clayne’s fans.

He also claims that some of his tweets weren’t from him and that he was hacked.

I still have three episodes to finish out the season. I’ll probably wrap those up and be done with the show. Nothing against SWS, but if he’s going to be comic foil to a comic, then that’s not what I’m looking for. For shame too, because this was a fun show, and Riggs really acted as the emotional serious anchor of the show.

Congrats to Sean William Scott since except for the Goon movies he gets no roles in movies and tv shows.

THR is reporting that SWS will play Riggs' brother thus keeping the Riggs and Murtagh names.

I will give it a shot. I think it is a goofy choice but who knows, it could work out.

Deleted series recording. No issue with SWS but I don't feel this show is good enough to survive a recast like that. I'll pretend it was cancelled.

SWS doesn't really seem like a great fit to pair with Wayans. SWS is mostly known for his comedic roles and brings nothing to the table in terms of drama. I assume he came very cheaply.
